I installed it on dell precision 5540. I didnt have the NVMe usb adaptor to clone it before installation so I directly installed it into the computer. After that, I placed my working old sata ssd drive into a SATA to usb external driver case and booted from external usb. After booted, use EASUS free version to clone external usb drive to internal new drive. Had one major issue: my new 5540 was not able detect the new NVMe drive. But after I updated the BIOS to the latest, it worked. Here are the reasons I chose this ADATA ssd: its consumes very little power in IDLE mode than other SSDs. The NVMe controller is from SMI (silicon motion, Taiwan), the flash memory is from Micron. So the components are decent. See more information from Tomshardware. My computer runs very quiet for most of time. In terms of disk performance, I tested coupled of times, sometimes I was not able to reach the advertised sequential Read number. But the random access is very good, which I care most for my usage model.

I am really Happy with this Drive, The above benchmark is not the best I have done with it, I just wanted to have an image to go with my review, this the bench was being completed while i was doing a couple small tasks, the Max I have seen it go for Seq Reads thus far is 3,200 MB/s, But getting this item on a lightening Deal for $95 was a steal! and am purchasing another one ( I will be paying a bit more since the deal is off) but this is still cheaper than my Samsung Evo Plus, and is very comparable in speeds, I copied a 60 GB game folder, from and to the same drive at 1.2 - 1.3 GB/s, I am pleased with that outcome, this is also very nice for moving videos around if you are a creator. The software they provide for free with your purchase to clone your drive was very fast and took 12 minutes, with no issues. I have seen people reviewing this saying its not as advertised, but please be sure you are seeing what item they are talking about. The 3500 /3000 Speeds are for the 1 TB drive, not for the 256 that I have seen, and be sure you have no bottlenecks on your system, and remember if you are copying from a Sata SSD to this, you are of course not going to get 3000 MB/S read and Write speeds, you will need to either copy to and from the same drive (SX8200 Pro) or if you have 2 of these drives. the limit is as fast as the slowest drive on your system you are copying to or from.

I bought this in Dec 21 as an additional cache drive for a NAS (running Unraid) but noted lots of of media and data integrity errors after around 9-10 months, that was faulting my NAS. Removed the drive and things went back to normal. Raised a ticket (with some struggles on a less than friendly website) and eventually got an RMA. Returned at end of November 22 - still within the year guarantee period. Got a delivery receipt from UPS detailing its arrival and that it had been signed for. RMA website however says that they are still waiting to receive it...! After several weeks with no response to multiple emails, eventually got a were having supply problems - be patient... email on Dec 29th. Nothing since. Their RMA system however still says they havent received it...! So essentially, theyve either lost or thrown away my SSD, I have nothing to show for it, and they are completely ignoring my emails. Having the SSD fail is one thing - ignoring/denying that the drive has been returned (despite the UPS receipt copied to them ) is a different level of ineptitude. Ive never experienced anything like this ever with any company - I will never buy anything from them again, and in all conscience can only advise anyone else to stay well away...

WOW! This M.2 is amazing! I went from using a SATA SSD and thought the performance difference wasnt going to be much better but I am pleased to say its quite the opposite! The price is also amazing and I have read it rivals Samsung and their performance. This M.2 loads windows almost instantly and the way I was able to tell the difference is the ability of right when windows launches to the desktop you can open a bunch of applications with no buffering or wait time Pros: Good price Amazing performance comes with DIY heatsink (This thing runs very hot!) Cons: -Setup didnt come with the screw all M.2s require but I was able to manage with my specific case. -Not specific to ADATAs M.2 but most mother boards SATA connections are canceled when you install a M.2 which caused issues with my OS SSD not showing up. Reading the motherboards manual to see what SATAs get shutoff when you install an M.2 is vital and will save you time on the troubleshooting when ur PC wont boot because it -shut off your other drives. -Didnt come with screw to install into MOBO

This review is for the 1TB drive. This is important to note, because most of the negative reviews are from people who dont understand how these things work, or how they are listed on Amazon. That being said, lets move on. Installed this into a new build system, on a B450 Gaming Plus Max board, with a Ryzen 3600 chip. Drive came with the m.2 screw to properly mount to the motherboard. Installed Windows to the drive via USB, and the motherboard automatically selected it as the boot drive once that was done. I want to say that again. The drive 100% works as a boot drive, and once Windows is installed, any decent motherboard will automatically select it as the boot drive. Speeds are essentially as advertised on the read side, and about 10% better than advertised on the write side. In addition, it stays quite cool. Drive did not exceed 48c during testing via CrystalDiskMark. It DOES include a very thin heat spreader, which I did put on the drive. Not sure what impact it has, but hey, every degree matters! Currently idling at 36c.

I started buying Adata memory back around 2006-2007 and I have been buying Adata SSDs pretty much ever since they came out. I have used Adata SSDs of just about every model and size both in my personal computers and for work. In all that time out of literally hundreds of drives I have one gotten one DOA and none of the others have failed so far. They might not meet the performance of some of the SSD that cost twice and three times as much, but for the price point that Adata keeps their products at, your are not going to find anything better. I bought the XPG SX8200 Pro 512GB M.2 to go in a 3 year old HP Envy 15 laptop running a 7th gen i7 processor and 16GB of memory. I have been using the new M.2 drive for about 2 weeks with absolutely no issue. The laptop does seems to boot faster now (though its also a new install of Windows 10 so that will also contribute to a faster boot time). I have attached the CrystalDiskMark scores for my laptop but in all honesty unless you are a professional gamer that is all rather useless. If you want a fast and reliable drive for way less money than a Samsung Pro or Intel then look no further than Adata.

EDIT: updated from 1 stars to 4, while ADATA did not actively reach out to fix the issue from this review, their RMA process was fast and painless, replaced the drive no questions asked beyond the RMA questionnaire form with mostly personal info/ address plus brief description. Mailed new drive promptly arrived in 3 days. Hard to ask for more than that considering the purchase was 6 months ago. Waste of money! Died in less than 4 months from purchase, only 2 months being installed from light to moderate use in laptop . Turned laptop on today to find that the computer couldnt find either boot partition. Removed and installed the old tiny SSD I upgraded from, computer booted, put this piece of garbage in a external HD case, plugged it in, has power...computer cant find it...piece of garbage, save your money dont buy this!

Getting good performance from the 1TB drive and, on paper at least, it seems relatively on par with a Samsung drive for the most part and at about $40-50 less. I say on paper since I havent really done anything to push this drive since Im just using it as a boot drive and not for any extreme storage scenarios. The only drawback is that the SSD endurance is only 640 TBW, but as long as its being used for games or boot, I dont see this as a big deal. As a boot drive, it was super easy to install and the fact that it came with an optional heat spreader is great... although, it mostly just a thin piece of metal with some pre-applied thermal compound -- nothing fancy. Performance-wise its definitely an improvement over my old 850 EVO SATA SSD. I say go for it if youre on a budget and need a solid NVME SSD.
