> 3 dayThis light is wonderful. I have a turtle, and got tired of replacing the other style bulbs all the time. I purchased this for its energy saving, and its cost. this bulb at my local pet store is about double the price. You cant beat the price and the quality for this bulb. I have bought 2 of them from amazon and am very happy with the product and the service.

> 3 dayI have 3 rescue turtles and all of their shells were awful! Looked up the correct lighting and ordered this and it came to my apartment broken. I tried to reach out but kept getting a screen that said refund or cancel and I was just done playing the games and canceled. too afraid to buy again.

Greater than one weekI bought my first 10.0 mini compact recently, and it does not emit all that much UVB light. I was surprised, disappointed and also find it curious that many reviews dont even mention the output levels (or lack of it). Cmon people. Thats the reason for using UVB bulbs! I have a ZooMed UVB meter (cheap at $250!), and the 10.0 mini compact registers only 40-50 units at the recommended 5-8 inches from the surface and that diminishes quickly, dropping to less than 10 units within a few inches of the bulb -- and that is without any screen mesh blocking the output which will further reduce the UVB reaching your critter(s). When I used the older T8 or T12 fluorescent bulbs, some would emit 200-300 units when measured directly and that strength extended nearly the full length of the bulb.

> 3 dayStarted smoking one day. I use this for my turtle tank in a Zoomed lamp. It lasted a long time and would have been perfect if not for the little incident. One day I smelled a nasty smell like burning plastic but I couldnt figure out where it was coming from until I checked my aquarium room. The lamp was making a buzzing sound and there was a lot of smoke coming from the bulb. I quickly unplugged the lamp and checked the bulb. It was really hot(it usually dont get very hot at all) and had a burnt brown color at the base. Thankfully I was home because who knows what would have happened or how long it wouldve gone on. It took a couple of days to get rid of that burnt plastic smell. The lamp itself was okay and Im still using it it was only the bulb that was bad. Im only giving this 2 stars instead of 1 because it worked great until it started smoking.
