This product arrived but it didn’t work. No idea why, but the bulb just didn’t work. Which is a bad time to realize that it can’t be returned. So apparently there is no way to return or get a replacement that works?

Have to give it 4 stars because my first blue arrived dead. Got another sent out and it was great.

We have 2 terrariums and an aquatic turtle cage. We use these for every one. They work great, and unless we break them on accident, they have lasted us the whole 6 months we keep them. We always have an extra on hand and always change twice a year.

Opened the box and there was no obvious damage. However, once I screwed it in, absolutely nothing. The old bulb works just fine so its not the lamp.

I actually use this for the bird. It works great for his feather development. This light also has greatly improved his mood. I was sceptical about weather this would do the trick, but I have no complaints! I plan to order again and again!

i ordered this item with a one day delivery shipping charge because it is imperative for the health of my turtle. i cant find the compact fluorescent anywhere locally so i ordered it.....i received it and it boasts a year + lifespan, but advises you to change it after a year as it may lose some of its effectiveness.....fine....it lasted exactly a week. nice. i had ordered the reptisun 5.0 compact previously and it didnt last but a couple of months, but i thought i would try again....these arent cheap....and who would have suspected that its performance could be LESS satisfactory.....i mean how LOW can it go? obviously, far lower. i didnt realize when i ordered this that it was a zoo-med product or i would have known not to....i have had awful performance with their basking pot lamps lasting 1/4 of the time it was supposed to.....and an equally hard time with petco trying to get then to back up their product. i had better stop before i say more.

I bought my first 10.0 mini compact recently, and it does not emit all that much UVB light. I was surprised, disappointed and also find it curious that many reviews dont even mention the output levels (or lack of it). Cmon people. Thats the reason for using UVB bulbs! I have a ZooMed UVB meter (cheap at $250!), and the 10.0 mini compact registers only 40-50 units at the recommended 5-8 inches from the surface and that diminishes quickly, dropping to less than 10 units within a few inches of the bulb -- and that is without any screen mesh blocking the output which will further reduce the UVB reaching your critter(s). When I used the older T8 or T12 fluorescent bulbs, some would emit 200-300 units when measured directly and that strength extended nearly the full length of the bulb.
