ZYLISS Right Scoop Gray

I read a review from Food and Wine. This rated #3, and I took a chance, it was a little heavier than I thought, but east to use. It was as described in the FW review. Great scoop release and not the prettiest shape. Love it anyway.

The shape of the scoop and the handle are excellent. However the plating used on the scoop pits and flakes off after time. Small flakes of metal will inevitably end up in your ice cream. Worse, Zyliss knows full well about this and their answer is that coating is food safe (yes, that was their exact response to me). In addition, the pits can store bit of food and bacteria. These arent particularly expensive, and if you dont mind tossing them out and buying a new one every time they start pitting, these are a great option.

Great, heavy duty scoop. This is my second one since I love my other one so much and figured it would be good to have 2 especially during the hot summer months!

I gave Zyliss 3 chances - and the finish on their scoops pitted every time. Call me foolish, but I really liked the way this scoop works on hard ice cream so I tried again, and again! Im done!! I wonder how many people who gave a rave review initially, took the time to update when their scoop became pitted. This was not just a bad batch - my purchases were a year or two apart. Poor quality finish!

Works well, but poor quality. After just under 2 months the finish is peeling with small chips in it. I have only hand washed it.

This is the best thing under the sun for ice cream fans. This scoop was our third one by Zyliss cuz we eat ice cream quite often and various flavors. Word to the wise: don’t leave the scoop in the ice cream bucket when you’re done using it: it’ll melt your ice cream super fast. The antifreeze inside will do that for you.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for an ice cream loving friend who has Parkinson disease. The ease in removing frozen ice cream with this tool is amazing!!! It’s like a magic wand for ice cream...no having to wait for ice cream to soften, cleanup is a quick rinse because ice cream doesn’t stick...This tool is Brilliant!!!

We found an old one like this at the thrift shop and loved it... until the handle broke off... so I was super excited to see that Amazon carried them and theyre not expensive... I bought 2 so we dont have to go without it. Our icecream is always super hard, so this is the best at getting the leverage to get it to scoop well. Two thumbs up! I scream, you scream, we all scream for this scoop... doesnt rhyme, but its true...
