I ordered 2 center punches that appeared the same on the Amazon website. This one was substantially cheaper, and now I know why. After testing both center punches on a sheet of plywood, this one stopped working after 3 punches. It lacks the spring power needed to make a dimple in relatively soft wood, so I am certain it would never leave any mark on hardwood or metals as it should. There are other options available, so I recommend choosing one of those over this one.

I really thought these center punches would be cheap. I was wrong. They are heavy, come with an extra set of punches. You can reduce or increase the pressure for whatever you need to create a center punch on. Im very impressed with this product. I like how its made. It has a diamond pattern texture that provides extra grip to hold onto it. If I ever needed to buy another center punch, I would buy these again, no doubt. I definitely didnt waste my money buying these.

The price was great for two automatic center punches, but should have know that you get what you pay for. They came unassembled and assembly was easy enough. But the first time I used it it didn’t even leave a scratch on the 18 gauge sheet metal I was marking and the punch seized in the shaft and had to be disassembled to get it free.

To use. And the tips bend easy when working with steel.

Wow,,,tried to simply punch starter divet in aluminum. The punch fell apart after three activations.

Its hard for me to do sometimes. My husband and I do woodworking but sometimes Im not strong enough to do it. But love the way it marks the whole.

if you are a woodworker is ok, but not for metal, especially hard metals. save your money and buy something else.
