> 3 dayWe used this to keep our toddler, “separate” from our other two kids as they all were sharing a room while on vacation. This works extremely well, however this is best put up with two people. It did not get too hot inside, and has a place for a fan and a baby monitor. All and all I would recommend.

> 3 dayAmazing product. We live in a 2 bedroom and needed the baby to stay in our room for a while. But our room is so light in the afternoons. This product was perfect for us. Made naps/sleeping so much better.

> 3 dayIf you’re traveling and your kids can’t sleep without their environment pitch black, get this. It’s pricey, but would say it’s kinda worth it after a few trips. Setting up isn’t too hard as long as you have plenty of space; it’s similar to setting up a tent. The pod is compact too, it fit on one side of my large luggage plus a travel bassinet. The pod is definitely dark inside. I zipped myself up and couldn’t see much besides small amounts of light coming from the ground. Major con: the fan that comes with it does not blow much air. The little pocket for it does not allow air to pass so there is no air circulation inside the pod. The fan is also very small - like a small desk fan. I wouldn’t trust this to keep my kid cool over night. What I did instead: I used our stroller fans and attached it to the bassinet inside to blow air. This worked way better and gave me peace that my kid wouldn’t feel stuffy inside the pod.

> 3 dayAs a blackout space this works fantastically. My baby sleeps well in it, even with the sun shining into the room. It does take two people to assemble as the poles are long. In a small space like a bedroom you could potentially take out a lamp. Fan is absolutely necessary to help ventilate. The plastic monitor pocket doesn’t provide ideal video quality but is functional.

> 3 dayThe Slumberpod is amazing. Its great for travel even if you have someone else sleeping in the same room, but even just for naps during the day because it is so pitch black inside the tent. We have traveled several times domestically and internationally with our little baby, and on several trips he completely rejected the travel crib, in part because of the strange surroundings and the jet lag. So this time I bought the Slumberpod after stumbling upon a positive review. While setting it up did require two people (and it was a bit awkward in a small bedroom with the poles flying everywhere), once it was set up, it was literally magic. Our baby has never been one for naps as he gets distracted as soon as you put him down and starts standing up, crawling around, and wanting to escape. As soon as I put him into the crib, he cried for 10 seconds and then it went silent. He was so quiet I was worried something was wrong - but it was just that he had literally fallen asleep right away because it was so pitch black. At night, we have our older daughter in the same room, and he has had no trouble sleeping 11-12 hours every night, again because its so pitch black. Our only two complaints are that the pouch for the monitor doesnt work well for the Nanit - the camera cant figure out the lighting and just keeps resetting, plus Im not even sure its safe to put it there since the camera gets warm and its a plastic pouch. So weve had to do without the camera. Instead, weve put the monitor outside the tent so we can at least hear if hes crying. The second complaint is that while the fabric is breathable, theres really very little circulation so it can get super hot in the tent. Weve moved from long sleeved sleeper PJs with sleepsack to having him sleep with only diaper and pants just so he doesnt heat up as much. But otherwise the Slumberpod is seriously amazing, and Im tempted to use it when I get home just for naps!

> 3 dayUgh, I struggled with this thing the first week. We were moving around a lot and I was seriously thinking of returning it. We were in small spaces and the sticks would spread out from corner to corner making it so hard to bend and assemble. This could have all been avoided if there was a simple tips and tricks section in the manual for small spaces. Luckily I found a video on line on how to assemble in small spaces. I wish I would have Googled it early but mostly that the manual had that tip. Now it’s great! We’re still using bc we’re in between places but my husband hates assembling it still. Lol

Greater than one weekWe purchased the SlumberPod for a trip to Disneyland where our family of five all stayed in the same hotel room. Our toddler is used to sleeping in their own room in the pitch black, so we were very happy to find this solution. The SlumberPod worked wonderfully for our toddler. It is advertised as a blackout canopy, and that is exactly what it is. Even when placed next to a window with full sun, this thing is as opaque as a wall. Weve even used it when spending a day up the mountain, and it blocks the sun as well outside as it does inside. The opening for a fan works very well, and the baby monitor sleeve ensures that we can see our toddler while they slumber. The only thing that we did not like about the SlumberPod is that the baby monitor sleeve is made of clear plastic, which means it does not allow for airflow. Our baby monitor has a thermometer, and because it couldnt breathe in the sleeve, the heat generated by the monitor from being plugged in and one gave us inaccurate readings of the temperature inside the SlumberPod. That first night of use, we were very concerned by the nearly 90 degree temperature readings within the Pod, but we quickly realized that the monitor was just overheating in the sleeve and that the fan blowing air into the Pod was actually doing a great job at keeping it cool. I may decide to do some DIY modifications to remedy this problem. Other than that, it is a great product that has our familys stamp of approval.

Greater than one weekI learned about the Slumberpod shortly after my daughter was born but kept holding off because of the price. Our family on both sides live 2-4 hours away so we have travelled frequently since our daughter was born to try to see family regularly, usually sleeping with her pack’n’play crammed next to our bed wherever we’re staying. I used to silently shove my husband whenever he moved around at night for fear of the sound of blankets moving alerting our daughter to us being in the same room (even over the sound machine). When she got big enough to see over the edge of the pack’n’play, though, it was game over: she’d peer over, see me a foot away, and that was the end of sleep— whether 3am or 6am. So I finally bit the bullet and put $200 into this black tent, praying it would be worth it. Holy cow— it was! We used it two weekends back-to-back in different locations as soon as we got it and we all slept until a normal wake time! And our 23 month old loves it. To her, it’s a fun novelty. BUT… I’m very worried it’s short lived because one of the pole pockets was already ripped the first time I used it. I’m praying it holds up before I have to pay another $200. We couldn’t immediately return because of back-to-back family visits and now our return window is closed. Disappointing to have to worry about this already because of a quality issue, especially at this price point. In the end, it’s a life-saver but it’s a luxury item because of price (especially if it doesn’t last). Yes, it’s a pain to assemble because of size (you need space) but it’s easy to move once set up and not difficult to figure out. I’d give it five stars if not for the torn rod pocket and concerns about lasting quality.

Greater than one weekMuch bigger than I expected, you need a big space to set it up. It’s a cumbersome set up initially, but it’s worth it.

24-11-2024If you have a warm sleeper I don’t think this is a great fit. The tent was at a minimum 8-10 degrees warmer than our home. We did not have a fan inside the tent so maybe this could have solved that? Also, assembling wasn’t simple. It wasn’t the hardest job, but don’t expect a simple pop up tint. None the less, our baby did sleep well! I am very grateful for the slumber pod and we will be using this again while we travel but will be adding the fan.
