This isnt going to suffice if you use them everyday. I had a project that needed tapping, so i got this kit and it worked great. The only drawback was my t-handle spring mechanism gave out, so the little crossbar slides out. Thats why I dropped it a star. Perhaps the seller can make this right and ill bump it up to 5. Prior to this project i had only limited experience tapping, but was able to get the job done with this kit. As mentioned in others reviews, keep the foam in the case to keep your pieces from rattling around.

Tapped a 4mm hole into cast iron block very easily clean cut no binding. Dyed a rod and also no binding with very clean threads. nice that the case is marked what diameter and thread pitch. I suggest using a very lite grease on all tap and dyes when storing to protect there markings.

This tap and die set are made well. They are priced right.

Ok...this is not a review based on years of experience. In fact, I have never operated the device before. I sail a lot and needed an item for the main sail. The replacement cost was over $150. If I could just replace the threads on the item, it would still be functionable. I decided on The Master Tap and Die Set. It arrived today, I selected the items that fit the existing rods and easily replaced the threads. I couldnt be more pleased with the ease of utilizing the tools. This will remain on the boat for, I am sure, a variety of projects. DrDanielA

Just tapped out a couple M8 size holes where i broke a couple bolts on my Toyota. Worked like new by the end of the second bolt.

Attempted to use the 1/2-13 Die to cut new threads. 1/2-13 nut I had did not screw on. Borrow a die from someone else, which clearly cut deeper even though I had run the 1/2 die over the entire blank. Female thread screwed on just fine after using the 2nd (borrowed) die. Havent tried all of the other dies but not interested in the set if the very first die i used couldnt cut new threads. Probably usable for cleaning up existing threads. The handles are pretty cheap feeling but about what is expected for this price point. Taps and Dies themselves feel decent quality.

Great product offering really good value for the money. I was able to easily complete my project and would definitely recommend.
