ABUS U-Lock Granit XPlus 540, Bike Lock with XPlus Cylinder, High Protection Against Theft, ABUS Security Level 15, Black/Grey

I have been very happy with it so far. I have a hard time understanding why a person would want the 12 version unless locking multiple bikes though.

This lock feels indestructible, but the key is now permanently stuck in the lock with my bike locked to a rack. ABUS will not replace the lock unless I return it to dealer where I bought it for inspection. That dealer was Amazon, and the return window is long gone. I can ship the lock to ABUS to have them inspect it and determine if a replacement is warranted, but its stuck on my bike/bike rack and even if I could get it off I would be without a lock for a few weeks. I recommend going with Kryptonite bike locks instead, as I have one of those that I purchased in 2005 that still works great 15 years later.

Far heavier than expected. Wont fit ladies Trek hybrid when trying to lock bike to small diameter bike rack.

I finally got myself a new bike, and wanted a new lock in the vein of a Kryptonite U-Lock. I have two previous K-locks that never failed me, but then I tend not to lock up unsupervised in public for long. I like the feel of the ABUS; the key action is smooth and the mechanism feels well made and sturdy. I understand that any lock is the best until its defeated, but so far so good. My one complaint is that even though its the same size as my K-locks, because of the U-bar shape and layer of sealant, it doesnt readily fit in my back pockets like a K-lock. I ride with my U-locks in my back pocket for security and driver harassment deterrence, so now I need to make other arrangements to keep it handy while riding.

Good lock, but living is a high thief area, I choose a different, what I feel was better for my purpose

Easy to use and mount to my bike. Definitely worth the investment to protect my bike from theft.

I used Krytonite locks in the past, but after using this lock, I dont think Ill ever go back. Its strong but light enough to carry in a messenger bag without issue. Locking/unlocking is super smooth unlike my Kryptonite locks that would leave my fingers in pain. Cant praise this lock enough.
