> 3 dayI’ve been using this monitor for the past year without issues and think it is a great product for the price. I work from home so I am a heavy user of my monitor. My old monitor was beginning to flicker all of the time which led me down a research rabbit hole and ultimately deciding between this Acer model and an HP. I opted to go Acer because it was slightly cheaper. I could not be more pleased. Connections: there are numerous ports that connect to different cords so it is a breeze to switch from my laptop to my husband’s laptop and our Chromebook. My laptop is 99% attached. Colors and clarity: my old monitor was old and small and pixel-y so anything was a step up. I had lower expectations for this monitor given the price and really just needed something that did not flicker. The first day I plugged my laptop in I was amazed by the colors and the clarity of everything. The Microsoft lock screen that swaps new stock pictures daily is absolutely gorgeous. My eyes do better when looking at Excels too. Size: I went with the 23.8 bc I did not want to get something obnoxiously large. I almost regret not getting the 27 bc the monitor is so light and thin. The 23.8 is nowhere near overwhelming and definitely is a great everyday size that blends into a workspace, but don’t be afraid to go big. Reliability: I have been using this exactly a year and the monitor has had no issues. It’s been great. I highly recommend this monitor for anyone looking for a great monitor that is thin and light at a great price.

> 3 dayLet me just start by saying this monitor in terms of price and image quality is very good. Its got nice viewing angles, a bright/vivid picture with nice colors, all three display ports/audio jack etc... its a matte finish too which is great for people who have keyboards that light up as it wont reflect onto the monitor itself like my last Acer H236HL did with the glossy mirror finish. That being said, this is my 3rd Acer monitor in a row that has shipped with exactly one dead pixel somewhere on the screen. The first one, an Acer H236HL from Best Buy, came with a dead pixel on the upper left of the screen and since I purchased that at Best Buy, I was out of the 14 day return window. I then decided to give Acer a second shot with this R240HY model since it hit all the check points I was currently looking for a monitor mentioned above as the glossy screen of the H236HL was a big hindrance in any area with light coming in. After a day of using it I did a dead pixel test against red, green, blue, white and black backgrounds and against blue backgrounds it had a dead pixel right near the center of the screen. As usual Amazon was great with the replacement without hassle. Unfortunately my second monitor came with a defect on the upper left. A black dot was now present on the upper left of my screen across all colored backgrounds. I contacted Amazon and theyve offered me a refund but no further replacement which is still great service by them as this is completely on Acer and not them. I really liked this monitor overall but I cant let a 3rd dead pixel in a row slide from the same manufacturer and will probably have to look for alternatives. Unfortunately a lot of people easily overlook a dead pixel or two, or simply never notice them but I find even one dead pixel a complete failure on the manufacturers part and I will inspect every background on a newly purchased monitor. Note: if you go through Acer RMA, they consider 10 dead pixels acceptable on 1080P screens and 16 acceptable on 2K screens, so keep that in mind when shopping with them. In conclusion, its a shame because I really wanted to keep this monitor as the image quality for the price is superb, but its pretty obvious where they cut corners to keep the prices down. I urge all of you to do a simple dead pixel test online after a few days of owning a new monitor as youre entitled to a brand new product without manufacturing defects.

> 3 dayI bought one a couple of years ago and then bought a second one last year. Both still work well. I’ve never had any issues or screen bugs. I use it for work, gaming, editing, etc. Really good multi use monitor.

04-06-2025I bought this monitor because I am replacing one that got broken a few days ago. This monitor has great colors and a good performance for work from home. I would not recommend this monitor if the purpose is to use it in gaming, because it has only 60 Hz refresh rate and 4 ms response time. I got it for a low price and free shipping, so, I am totally satisfied with the product!

> 3 dayEasily one of the best, clearest pictures I have seen on a monitor. Easy to set up and is a very good buy. Unfortunately cant say the same for Amazon/Acer quality assurance. When I opened the box I had two VGA connectors and half of an AC adaptor. So I had to go out and buy a new AC adaptor because Amazon makes you return the entire monitor to just get the other part of the adaptor. My advice - great monitor, but buy it somewhere else because Amazons customer service is a joke. I also just cancelled my Amazon Prime because of this. Mistakes happen I understand, as I make plenty. But poor customer service can be prevented, and with so many people working from home, Amazon has a monopoly and could less about the customer.

> 3 dayYou notice the colors first. Everything is more brilliant. Sharper image, exact colors, etc. I thought it might be too big for a home office but no, its just right. Some websites are better viewed on the bigger screen, a nice, visual effect that enhances the whole surfing experience. Very satisfied w/ my purchase and it also makes my computer appear to be faster b/c it loads the images faster; something I didnt expect but really appreciate, a byproduct of the different cable I suppose. Much better monitor all round and money well spent. I am not a gamer so cannot give any rating for that. 23 May 21 - b/c it is a bigger screen area you may have to adjust the display parameters. I have a Mac Mini and it was not so difficult to do. You need to play around w/ the values a little to get it just right.
