> 3 dayMy 4 year old Digital Storms fans went dead. I was faced with the choice of fixing the fans or getting a replacement for a system that was long in the tooth. When I saw this laptop with a much better video card than that in the old system I decided to see if it would work as a replacement. All my data were on external hard drives. I plugged them into the USB 3 ports. I used a USB hub to connect keyboard and mouse. My monitor was connected via the HDMI connector. External speakers were attached via the headphone plug. I plugged my internet router to the Ethernet port using an extender. My internet speeds were the same with the extender as they were before I used it.

> 3 dayAwesome powerful gaming system. It powers up fast and shuts down easily. Updating the graphics card is an easy step through step process when needed it. The design is awesome. I love the lit up features. It doesn’t come with a mouse, so order a good simple gaming mouse or you’ll be stuck with the mouse screen.

Greater than one weekWhere to start, the Acer Helios 300 is probably one of the best laptops that you will ever find for the price. It arguably plays games at the level of a desktop PC. I have built desktops for quite some time and considering I traveling i had sold my current desktop and wanted to make a quick purchase for a laptop that could game , Modern Warfare, Overwatch, pub G and so on.

Greater than one weekI was in love with this laptop before the first blue screen. After some troubleshooting, factory resetting the laptop a few times I was obligated to try something different, a full reinstall from scratch. It did work for a while them blue screens again. I have tested and stressed my laptop and I have no hardware issue. Only problem I’m facing after a full install from scratch is that predator software doesn’t launch. When I try to install it windows says that it has unsigned drivers... even after forcing the install I try to launch it but I only see the splash screen, actual software doesn’t launch. Not a big deal but can’t set the keyboard color scheme without predator sense. Besides those issues the laptop is really nice

> 3 dayThe fan is not working now, and of course warranty and support expired in June. No computer Ive owned has had a problem like that so soon. Overall Ive been disappointed with this computer. It uses more power than most laptops. I travel and live off-grid most of the time. I attempted to get a 12v charge cord so i wouldnt need to run it through my inverter but wasnt able to find one. So that was my first disappointment.

> 3 dayFor the price its perfect. For gaming it will literally run everything. I played cyberpunk ultra at 60fps but also 60fps at medium, I think cyberpunk needs to be optimized. No it cant do ray tracing well, the fps will plummet, if youre okay sub 60fps then go for it. Once you go 144hz you cant go back. The battery obiously not meant for gaming on the go, even if it is a laptop. BUT people have complained about the fans and yes it is loud asf. If you wanna use it for school or basic stuff you can go into battery mode, go into control panel -> hardware and sound -> power options -> change plan settings -> advanced power settings -> configure intel thermal whatever tf -> lower it to 35 -> and PCI express max power savings -> processor power management -> decrease cpu speed before increasing fan. That way it will be quiet while you do non-power needing things like word or take notes at school. Otherwise it will be loud and you will feel awkward during lecture while your laptop reves up sounding like a leafblower

Greater than one weekOverall great lalfor the money. Screen is ok but not great. Keyboard is nice with backlit keys is nice. Boot time is excellent. Graphics ccan handle very high end games easily. One huge problem, cant hear a damn thing from the speakers. I tried everything including sound boost software and obly way you can hear anything is if you stick your ear near the speakers or use headphones. Headphones sound is good. Speakers are garbage. Any smartphone speakers are lauder then those speakers. Overall good laptop for the price if you dont plan on listening to anything over the speakers.
