I immediately set mine up to dual boot between Ubuntu (18.04) and Windows.

I dont often even write reviews, i have to be compelled by a superior experience, or an abysmal experience. anything that falls in the middle isnt worth the white noise.

It boots up quickly and my games all run smoothly on high graphics. It does tend to get a little hot, but from what Ive seen, the temperatures are normal for gaming laptops of this level. Get yourself a cooling stand and you should be fine. My only complaint would be how much of a nuisance up was to set up my Seagate HDD, but even that issue was solved pretty easily after a bit of searching on the Acer forum.

After having this computer for 6 months I have now had to send it back twice for repairs. The computer shuts off by itself constantly in the middle of using it. I researched the computer before I bought it and it had excellent reviews. But as I have been looking more into the issue there are tons of reports online with people having similar issues. Acer will not replace my computer even though it’s only 6 months old. The repairs they are doing is to reload the operating system which does absolutely nothing to fix the issue it is having. My next step is to contact Amazon to see if there is anything they can do.

Update: I think either the fan or the cpu is freaking defective and literary the computer melted around the left hinge area. This is poorly manufactured please don’t buy. I constantly get 95 C , sometimes even 98 C cpu temp. I have been saving a long time for this computer. Having to end up with a bad product, It is just sad and frustrating.

For real? only 3 hours of life for the battery.

So far this laptop seems pretty good, you do have to update your drivers as they seem to be out of date... one of the things that is bothering the most is the fact that the battery doesnt seem to last at all... as you can see from the picture I uploaded its at 82% battery and it shows that it will only last 53 minutes... Im really disappointed by this to the point that I may return the laptop however outside of that everything else seems to be ok. Its really loud and it gets hot really fast and really easy! Keep this in mind if you are considering buying this laptop.

Best gaming laptop for an UNBELIEVABLE price! Fast as you want, you can even upgrade it, it’s sturdy and runs all the games at ultra settings. I totally recommend it!!

This laptop is awesome for gaming. I have had mine for a while (Aug 2019) now and not a single issue. Adding a 2nd SSD (2TB) drive was as easy as 1-2-3. The system plays all the games I want at very high-quality graphics with no performance lag. I am definitely happy with this laptop.

After 1 year of frequently using this laptop for gaming, i can tell you: its doesn’t worth it.
