Laptop worked great for the first week or so I was able to play just about any game I threw at it at the highest graphic settings, but about a week into using the laptop it froze up and bluescreened. From that point on the laptop wouldnt get past the boot screen, or if it did it would freeze and bluescreen within a few minutes even if it was just idling. Trying a factory reset with an external drive always froze halfway through. I contacted the special predator customer support line and was initially told that I was the problem and that the laptop was working just fine... Once I convinced them that the computer was actually broken they then said that they would send me their special recovery disk that would fix all of my problems. Waited two weeks for the disk and when I didnt receive it I called back and was told that the drive was on the way and should arrive in 8-16 days. I waited another 3 weeks for the disk and when it still didnt arrive I called back and was told that they are still processing my request. Im completely fed up with this broken laptop and their terrible customer service. On top of all of this the computer is so broken that I cant wipe the harddrive and remove my personal data before returning it. Im going to try returning anyway so I can get my $1,000 back.

Nothing to dislike here. Great quality and performance for the price.

I purchased this a little over 3 years ago and it finally started to show its age. From the very start I had issues with my GPU fan sounding rattly, but it still pushed through and I never had GPU temperature problems. A few days ago it finally broke but it was definitely a good purchase back then. For some reason even though this laptop is outdated and very weak relative to much cheaper Acer laptops, the price has gone up from back then. Dont purchase now, buy the 3000 series laptops which are cheaper and better.

These fans do blow but in the best way. Any graphically intensive game you can feel the keyboard heating up where the CPU is. Press the turbo mode button and these fans will cool off your cpu to not scorching levels fairly quickly. This was my #1 concern when buying a new to me laptop. Awesome cooling fans was the highest priority. This delivers the cooler air and removes the hotter air best of any of the past 3 laptops Ive used. I agree w/ the other users about the graphics card ability and ram/ssd. I bought this about a year ago but at 1k instead of 1.2k. Not sure if this is still the best deal, but it is a very solid buy.

Its ok except my screen gets scrambles lines across it constantly. I bought it and put in a SSD which voids the warranty, turned it on and the screen has been screwed from day one. I mostly use it for vr and streaming to a TV, both work perfectly so I can live with it but I will never buy ACER again.

Probably everyone knows that a laptop prepared for gaming have not to big batteries, but thats not a complain, the display and the performance is stunning. Im more than in love that a laptop can be so cheap and powerful this days. Of course I cant give a 5 stars to the battery only because if I could play Doom for norte than 2 hours disconnected this laptop could breack sales records.

The Acer Predator Helios gaming laptop seems to be built well and the hardware specifications allow me to play games on the highest graphic detail settings without any lag.

Overall.... it is an awesome GAMING LAPTOP.. with that being said you will not get a long battery life, at all.... but that is to be expected. Frame Rates were excellent in Star Wars Fallen order, Fallout 4 etc.

The Acer predator laptop worked fantastically for me for about 10 months and than the motherboard decided to off itself. At first I thought no big deal because it has a 1 year warranty. However when I called about it Acer said that their warranty is from date of manufacture not date of purchase. I spent a lot of money on this laptop and I will not be buying another Acer product again.

I have had this laptop for almost 3 weeks and have been putting it through its paces with general use, games, watching streaming videos, etc. before writing this review.
