> 3 dayI got three of these in a set with a display four years ago. One of them stopped working correctly, so I had to buy a replacement. I know electronics dont last forever, but four years seems kind of short.

> 3 dayReplacing batteries requires a genius because the system rarely ever works without the assistance of a genius with a PhD in Electrical Engineering. But once it operates its greats but must be protected from rain and moisture.

Greater than one weekAfter I contacted acurite to verify that this 06009RMA1 Replacement Temperature Sensor was the correct one. I decided to purchase the used one and saved a few dollars. Why not? as the warranty and return policy are the same. It started sending as soon as I put the batteries in it. hopefully it will continue for a few years like the last one. Although the original was kept completely out of the rain and sun. I noticed considerable corrosion on the battery terminal (one). The circuits on the inside of the unit appeared to be fine....perfect actually. I cant say if the battery terminal was the reason for the failure but that is what I believe. It looked to be of stainless steel construction yet it had severe corrosion.

> 3 dayI took a chance and ordered this as my remotes did not survive the Florida environment. Acurite is not kidding when they state the remote sending unit should not be exposed to rain. This worked for my model 6036. Apparently, the 6024 display is similar so these remote sending units should work for that model as well. Installation went OK. But you will need the manual for the display as the method for recognizing the new sending unit is not intuitive. Search the Internet if you dont have a copy and save the copy! You might consider ordering a spare unit. I am.

> 3 dayIve never owned anything AcuRite. I dont even own the weather station you usually need to use with this. What I do own are several Raspberry Pis and an RTL_SDR. Getting this to be read couldnt have been easier. I simply installed rtl_433, and ran it. No commandline arguments required. In just a few seconds, it came back with the product identifier (a unique but static number that lets you distinguish one device from another), the temperature in Celsius, the humidity as a percentage, and the status of the battery (just a boolean value for either OK or not). This device sends out updates approximately every 15 seconds (though this varies by a few seconds each time; this is by design, to avoid packet collisions). The accuracy seems fine to me. When I got it, I stuck it beside our nest thermostat, and the temps were spot on. The humidity did read a few points low though, but I only care about the temps, so that doesnt matter to me that much. So far, Ive just been reading the temps manually, but eventually, I plan to write some scripts, or maybe just connect these to Home Assistant, to set up some alarms for when the garage is about to freeze, or for when the freezers are about to unfreeze. So far, Ive only put one in the garage, but Ive ordered a few more to monitor the fridges and freezers. For the price, you really cant go wrong.

> 3 dayThis was a replacement for the original wireless sensor Model No. 00592TX that came with an AcuRite Deluxe Weather Center Model No. 01099 which they no longer make. The old unit was working just fine; but was looking rather weather- worn so I decided to replace it. I also ordered AcuRites Solar Radiation Shield sold here on Amazon which offers protection from the sun to give more accurate temperature and humidity readings. It should also provide protection from the rain/snow although its not advertised that way. Its very nice!!!!! (My old sensor always showed warmer temps in the summer by 15 or more degrees compared to other outdoor thermometers I had. So I put new batteries in the new Sensor, snapped into the place for it in the Shield, and hung it outside in the same place. However, no signal bars were showing on the inside display. The manual says maybe it would take 20 minutes to synchronize when the batteries were changed. I waited 30 minutes - still no signal bars. So I took the batteries out of the display and reinstalled them. Now I had signal bars; however, the display unit went into the 14 day learning mode!

Greater than one weekThrilled to find a replacement sensor for this indoor/outdoor weather station. I got this from my Dad after he died 13 yrs ago and the original sensor finally crapped out.

Greater than one weekI bought several of these. They all seem to work fine. Im using a cheap SDR to read them with an RTL433 docker, and feed them to Home Assistant via MQTT. There are times where its not super consistently reading some of them, but there is probably a lot of metal blocking/interfering in some of the locations they were placed. Even the ones in the far backyard, on the other side of a 1/2 acre read successfully every so often. Overrall, Im happy with them.
