> 3 dayThis was a replacement sensor that was about over ten years old. I went to the AcuRite website via their Amazon store and easily found the sensor that would work for my Thermometer. There are different options so be careful when choosing as not all sensors work with all there thermometers or weather stations. I put two batteries in my new sensor and it worked like a charm.

> 3 dayI was able to pair this remote station with my inside station without any problem. The entire system works well. Over time the outdoor station will wear out and is easily replaced.

> 3 dayThe AcuRite temperature sensor is the weak point in their Backyard Weather Max/min Thermometer. I bought a Backyard Weather Max/min Thermometer that worked fine for about a year and then the sensor failed. A neighbor had the same experience. Both our sensors were on north facing walls under porches and so did not get direct sun nor direct rain. But they are used in Florida so are subject to humidity. I could not replace the sensor at my local big box store and so I replaced the whole thermometer. I still have the display in its original packaging as I am using the original in house digital display. The second sensor again worked for about a year but then failed. It still sends signals regularly but it now reports outside temperatures of 150-160F when it is actually 85-90F. Not wanting to purchase yet another full Backyard Weather Max/min Thermometer when I have two in house digital display systems, I turned to Amazon and found I could buy the AcuRite outdoor temperature sensor. Unfortunately, the first sensor I purchased was faulty and did not function! Amazon refunded the purchase price and I bought another sensor--that works! I will come back to this review when the sensor fails. But actually there is no other make of outdoor max/min temperature with wireless connection to an indoor display that I can find as an alternative. I am updating this review immediately, as the new sensor wireless signal is not as powerful as the original ones were. I cannot maintain contact between the outside sensor and the display unit on a dresser near my dining room. I have had to put the display unit on the inside of the wall that that the sensor is hung on. I cannot see it form my kitchen or dining room and so that is not as convenient as it was before. Second update: the sensor appeared to fail after one week and so I took the advice from Rachel at AcuRite Customer Loyalty and called in to them. They took me through all the steps -- taking out batteries and replacing them, including on the display. It turns out my display has developed problems. I still have the second display from the full Backyard Weather Thermometer that I bought a year ago. It is now connected to the sensor and all is working well. My display is back on the cabinet in my diningroom, and reflecting the correct 90F temperature out side and correct 82F inside temperature

> 3 dayPurchased 4 units to monitor humidity in crawlspace and attic. 2 of the units are off by -6% in humidity 1 unit is off by -4% humidity 1 unit is off by -8% humidity I calibrated these using the salt/water 24 hour method and a total of 6 units. One of the units was a more expensive (50$ sensor) from another brand that swears by their accuracy and sure enough that was the one unit that got exactly 75% humidity after 24 hours. These...not so much. These are probably mass-produced and not given a second thought on calibration. Thankfully for my use case (home assistant) I can set an offset.

> 3 dayThis is an exact replacement for a 17 year old transmitter for an indoor-outdoor thermometer (and other stuff on the inside part...). As such, it worked immediately, albeit not a simple plug-and-play (put in batteries and rehang). On the other hand, it was extremely simple to do the reset of removing the battery from the receiver, and then reset the date, month and time, along with the time zone. It instantly talked to the receiver, and I was finished. It was less expensive at Amazon, and was shipped free under Prime, arriving quickly, so Im very well pleased overall.
