I took a chance and ordered this as my remotes did not survive the Florida environment. Acurite is not kidding when they state the remote sending unit should not be exposed to rain. This worked for my model 6036. Apparently, the 6024 display is similar so these remote sending units should work for that model as well. Installation went OK. But you will need the manual for the display as the method for recognizing the new sending unit is not intuitive. Search the Internet if you dont have a copy and save the copy! You might consider ordering a spare unit. I am.

To reduce expenses and to help protect the environment, in early 2021 our household started taking a number of measures to cut our energy consumption. Those measures have proven successful: total 2021 electricity consumption in our single-family, detached home in the US SE was about 8,000 kWh (3,200 of which was for HVAC), compared to about 11,000 kWh annual average in previous years. [UPDATE on 1/1/23: our total electricity consumption in 2022 dropped even further to just 5,500 kWh (1,600 of which was for HVAC) for the year. We have HALVED our electricity consumption. Huge savings. This sensor continues to operate beautifully.] Our HVAC system screen shows us how much energy it uses daily/monthly/annually. It’s a useful monitoring tool. We use three other tools to help us understand our energy usage and provide us insights into steps we could take to save: a plug-in electricity usage monitor and a thermal imager (both discussed below), as well as our AcuRite weather station with two of these add-on sensors. Our AcuRite set-up allows us to monitor temperature and humidity in four places at once: outside, in our living room, in our crawlspace, and in our unfinished attic. Those four readings cycle on the AcuRite screen every couple of seconds, quickly giving us a full overview of things. Thanks to these readings, we have established a smarter, more energy-efficient way of ventilating our crawlspace and keeping humidity low in there. The readings also helped us see that our attic needed additional ventilation in the roof, prompting us to purchase and install a 4 Seasons Solar Powered Polycarbonate Vent, Weatherproof Design, Quietly Cools Up to 500 Sq Ft, 400 CFM: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DMSCPJA Here are some other products we purchased at Amazon that we can recommend to those interested in cutting home energy consumption: Kuman KW47-US Electricity Usage Monitor Plug Power Watt Voltage Amps Meter with Digital LCD www.amazon.com/Electricity-Monitor-Voltage-Overload-Protection/dp/B07DPJ3RGB Looking back, we can say that purchasing a Usage Monitor Plug has been one of our wisest and most useful moves, and a very inexpensive one at that. Klein Tools TI250 Rechargeable Thermal Imager: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089QW8R9S This tool, along with the Usage Monitor Plug, gave us a very good picture of where we were wasting energy. It was thanks to this tool that we realized, for example, that our then uninsulated recessed lights were really problematic, prompting us to purchase the following. This is an exact replacement for a 17 year old transmitter for an indoor-outdoor thermometer (and other stuff on the inside part...). As such, it worked immediately, albeit not a simple plug-and-play (put in batteries and rehang). On the other hand, it was extremely simple to do the reset of removing the battery from the receiver, and then reset the date, month and time, along with the time zone. It instantly talked to the receiver, and I was finished. It was less expensive at Amazon, and was shipped free under Prime, arriving quickly, so Im very well pleased overall.

The Temperature and Humidity Sensor can be paired with a variety of compatible indoor digital weather stations (sold separately) to view current conditions at-a-glance, or it can be used with the AcuRite Access (sold separately), allowing you to monitor your sensor information from anywhere in the world using your smartphone, computer or tablet. The integrated hole allows you to easily mount your sensor outside or with a nail, which you can easily hang your sensor anywhere..
