Aftershokz Aeropex Mini (Rebranded as Shokz OpenRun Mini) Bone Conduction Wireless Bluetooth Headphones

I’m a runner and like to listen to music but need to be aware of my environment on the road. I had heard good things about these headphones so even though they were kind of pricey I decided to take the plunge and bought them. The first few months they worked as advertised, were comfortable, and I could listen to my music and still hear cars coming etc. Fast forward a few months and suddenly my headphones would start to turn off every 60-120 seconds. I thought at first maybe the battery was low so for the next run I made sure I charged it completely. Next run, it started happening again. Every time it turns off I have to turn it back on and make sure it’s connected to the Bluetooth and then turn my music back on which is super distracting and difficult when trying to run. I wondered if there was interference from my running watch which also has Bluetooth but there’s not really any rhyme or reason and even when my watch was off it was still constantly turning off. I even got a new phone thinking maybe the Bluetooth wasn’t connecting but it’s still happening. The final straw was when I ran a half marathon this past weekend and after a full charge started saying “low battery” after 30 minutes and turning off every 120 seconds. It was awful. And of course even though I haven’t even owned these for a year it’s past the return date. If you want to pay a lot of money for headphones that will work for a short amount of time these are the headphones for you. If you want something reliable which is a good value for the price keep looking.... let me know if you find something. I’m still looking too. :(

The sound was in fact pretty clear. If listening to a podcast, speech, or some type of narration its down and clear. However, when listening to music the quality is flat. The sound came across as small and no body to it. All treble no bass at all. I will say though it wasnt distorted.

Amazing headphones. The sound is very clear especially for podcasts. I listen to a lot of music on it too. The music quality is not as good as over the ear headphones but its really good. Its perfect for running and cycling. Its very light and comfortable. Sometimes I forget that Im wearing them.

Having had them a couple of weeks I *love* them and am going to get another pair for my wife. its really the closest thing to listening on loudspeakers except only you can hear it, and while theres absolutely zero noise reduction, its always the closest thing to you.

Very light headphones with excellent sound. They can be used while swimming, or bathing, plus you dont notice that you have them on, and I wear them all day.

My mother is deaf and I bought her a pair of these and she loves them, she can hear music and talk on the phone and hear in both ears, highly recommend these to anyone

For purely bone conduction review purposes the Aeropex performs well! It’s great to have the flexibility to hear both my headphones and my surroundings. Works very well at the gym during workouts.

Look up the problem with the sound drivers (mechanics inside the ear piece) coming lose and rattling/dinging. Not sure if they have fixed the defect yet. I just used my warranty and am waiting on my replacements..

I am not able to wear earbuds so these are perfect. Fit great. Sound is incredible.
