Over all a good multi unit controller. However it really depends on what you play. Some games on steam work fine but others are a little tricker to get to work right and some options don’t work. Example for Warzone if I enable the tap x to reload or pick up it completely enables the button. And I’m forced to switch back to the default. While not a huge deal for me it’s little things like this I’m talking about. But I guess that’s what you get for a universal controller. Besides that great build quality and hooks up to every thing I’ve tried ( pc, steam and switch). I’ll be keeping it but might need to get a xbox controller for steam.

It worked well at first. But it has issues. The 8bitdo website offers a few FAQ but it it doesnt work you have to figure it out yourself. I had a problem where my computer couldnt recognize it. It was stuck with a flashing red LED on top and no amount of holding L + R + Start or Start or any combination or plugging it in could get it to register on my PC. I went to reddit and many people suggested taking out the battery and putting it back in. Unfortunately, this ended up killing the controller completely for some reason. Other people seem to have had similar issues. Anyways, proceed with caution. It sucks because it frequently has issues so its either try to fix it yourself or it doesnt work. I will not be buying another one to replace it. Updated: got it to work again. I have no idea how or why. Like I said, very temperamental controller. It is a good feeling controller, its a shame it acts up so much. At this price point, hard to fullheartedly recommend.

Really liked the controller. I can connect it with my laptop, PC or phone to play whenever I want. The longevity of the battery is so good, I only charge it when not using, and every 3 or 4 days. The feel is amazing, and no lag between the device and the action. I pair it with a 8Bit clip to my phone, so I can play any game.

This controller is almost amazing. Add amiibo support, turning on Switch. And most importantly, BETTER RUMBLE! The rumble is just horrible on the Switch.

I bought 3 of these controllers and they all have the same issues so Im not being biased. When the controller is actually connected to my switch its usually no problems. The problems start with how hard it is to try to pair them with the switch! Out of 10 times I only can connect with no issues 1 or 2 times at most. The rest of the times it is a constant pain to have to try and try again to connect the way it says in the manual. It takes as long as 20 - 25 minutes to finally connect a controller. We try various ways to try to connect the controls as well, not just by what we read in the manual and the same issue presents itself eventually. Battery life has been OK. When we do actually connect the controller to play, the play time can be from 1-3 hours with no issues and with battery still having a respectable amount left. Or so you think! When there is short game play we dont usually charge the controller but no matter how little we use it by the time we play again the following day, there is no battery left even though it is off. When the controller gets charged and then left off, and unused for more than 2 days, the battery is usually dead when we try to play with it. The quality of this controller I must say is a the best quality, second only to the Switch controllers sold by Nintendo themselves. I have not tried to use it with any of my other devices with Bluetooth so I will post an update soon.

I went with this one since it was the same price as the other and came with a bag at the time I purchased it. I dont know what I will do with the bag but hey free bag :) . The joystick is great for 8bit style games and games that work better with the D-pad. Ive used it with a Switch and a Raspberry Pi 4 so far and havent had any issues. The only thing I wish it was able to do is wake the switch from sleep but that may be fixed with a future firmware update (fingers crossed) Very high quality pad and is on par with the Pro Controller IMHO.
