> 3 dayThis is soooo sharp, which was great when sawing through roots and ivy vines, but when I stupidly went to swipe a clump of soil off the blade, I cut my finger. A true soil knife but if you have been using an old, dull tool, be careful. :)

Greater than one weekI love LOVE these Hori knives. This is the second one I bought, keeping one down by the garden for weeding and transplanting and one at the house for flowerbed weeding. Though a bit pricey, they are very comfortable to hold and very sturdy and well worth the price.

> 3 dayFor what this knife costs, and the fact that it is high quality Italian Steel, I would have expected more from the handle. The cheap orange plastic looks and feels cheap. I already have the knife at a professional woodshop getting a custom handle.

Greater than one weekAlthough shipping charges were a bit outrageous, this garden knife is tops. Very sturdily constructed, easy to grasp, and the easiest time Ive ever had removing weeds . . . 6 roots and all.

> 3 dayThis soil knife serves my purpose, which is to dig through clay and hard soil to plant. I found out it is also very sharp, which makes it effective at cutting grass and weeds the riding mower can’t reach. Go ahead and purchase the sheath so you aren’t tempted to stick it into your pocket.

> 3 dayThis is the original design for the Lawence soil knife. I love it because the shaft goes all the way through the handle, making it much stronger than the newer design. My go-to garden tool.

> 3 dayIll share a picture how far the tang goes to the back of the handle. That in itself is worth a thousand words if amazon review had a minimum character count :) Kidding aside, its very sharp so wear gloves when handling the knife. Left it outside since I bought it and still no sign of any corrosion. Nearly full tang, it ends just where the hanging hole starts

> 3 dayThis thing cuts through grass and other small roots like a knife - because it is a knife. It still didnt need sharpening but I would imagine that it will take some time to sharpen the serated side of the knife.
