AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

I have built various AMD and Intel systems since my first build which was the AMD K6-2 /500Mhz processor. From there I went to Pentium 3, back the the AMD XP 2000+ and back to the Pentium 4.....

At the time of writing this CPU has only been available for about 2 weeks and Ill admit I got very lucky in getting one on launch day. Most will probably find this hard to find until demand/supply stabilize but if youre fortunate like me here are some things I have found so far:

Not quite a 12th gen i7 but pretty damn close, and way cheaper. Great upgrade if you are trying to squeeze some more life out of your am4 platform on a budget.

Currently using a 120mm CLC to keep it cool, does the job just fine even with the highest PBO settings I could use, and without undervolting. Strikes a good balance between gaming and the occasional editing/photoshop work that I do.

Awesome processor, really fast and efficient. A bit too hot but its normal for this kind of processor, I live in a really hot place 32°(Feels like 40-41° Celcius) and with a Artic Freezer 34 eSports DUO, hits at full load 85-86°and IDLE 56-57° Celcius, I have 4 fans in the case, 2 instake and 3 exhaust.

This CPU is a monster for multi-tasking and for gaming it’s amazing I’m running COD games in about 200+ fps. Upgrade from a R5 3600, Just wait till the price goes down in the holidays got mine for about 100$ less of msrp.

runs cool and has power in reserve for serious gaming.

This CPU runs very very hot but it is very fast overall. The only real downside of this CPU is the temperatures as I am currently peaking 80+ on temperatures while playing games and this is with a 260 AIO attached.
