Overall just an excellent product. The multi-tasking and gaming performance is top notch. I upgraded from a 1700X on a B450 motherboard. Was just a drop in replacement after updating the motherboard BIOS. Very noticeable performance gains in most Triple A titles.

I use this for gaming in 1080p and 1440p mostly, and its usual paired with an RTX 3070 or 6700XT. It also sees lots of action in Davinci Resolve and photoshop and works seamlessly for me on the productivity side as well. It handles everything fantastically. In some games it will pull 100w and rendering videos and other productivity tasks will see it pull 130-140 watts, so a capable cooler goes a long way with this CPU.

This is a great buy for any modern game because the balance of multithreading in games and how well this runs. At stock I was able to cool it with a simple air cooler no problem. But if you do liquid cooling or a big heat sink you can overclock easily.

As someone who has been built Intel systems for over 20 years, I tried to build an AMD system for the first time. I did all my research and the motherboard I bought claimed it was compatible out of the box with Zen 3 CPUs. But after much frustration it turns out it was not and the only solution is to buy another previous generation CPU to upgrade the firmware to use this CPU. AMD and ASUS tech support were no help so I wasted $400 on this useless system unless I buy an second CPU to fix this. I regret ever buying AMD and will stick with Intel in the future.

You will not be disappointed at all with the performance of this processor but its probably overkill for you and youd be just as happy with the 5600x and $160 bucks saved on CPU and a less expensive cooler, unless you run something that specifically calls for more cores.

I made the mistake of not doing that before swapping this CPU in. After fixing my mistake, it fired right up. I had to disable CPU fan monitoring (because I use liquid cooling system) on the first boot, but after that and a couple restarts, its been rock solid.

I purchased this knowing it would run hot but I just thought I’d let anyone know that did not, this CPU runs extremely hot. I had purchase a new water cooled radiator to be able to use this CPU. You’ve been warned
