> 3 dayIts really good cpu, can pretty much run anything at max settings for gaming purposes, it handles everything like a feather and use of 12 cores is plenty enough for generation to come.

> 3 dayDefinitely a step in the right direction. Cant complain at all. I lack a decent video card for a few more weeks so I am limping by on a 1070 at the moment. Still notice a huge difference in my games though. Much snappier and smoother. Super smooth install. Just remember to upgrade bios before removing old chip. Prime x470 pro handles this like its designed around it. Temps are idle at 38c with Noctua D-15 and under load in games mostly stays at 65c. Once fairly soon on, I reached 70c for a moment. Have not seen that temp again.

> 3 dayI play DCS World mostly and it was hugh up tuck in performance. Paired with 6909xt and Samsung G9 its awsome.

> 3 dayI dont know if I had bad luck with ordering all my parts through Amazon, but the first core stopped working after a day. I got the other one in and its working amazing.

> 3 dayExtend the life of your old pc with this excellent cpu. I upgraded from a first-generation Ryzen 7 1700 to this third-gen 9 5900x 12 core. My Ryzen 7 1700 was very stable in an ASUS Prime x370-pro motherboard, as is this 12-core processor. The system X370 Bios was updated to allow third-gen Ryzen’s making this a cost-effective upgrade.

> 3 dayTwelve. Twelve, 7nm, physical processing cores, natively boosting to 4.9ghz. Mmmm. And then I over-clock it,... mmm. Under just a dual tower air cooler, I over clock her?! Mmmm. 5.1ghz. Mmm. Smooth as butter for months, MMMmmm-mmmm!!! Spontaneous crash doing basically nothing... :(. Another.... another... Maybe dont always overclock... Back to stock, still boosting to 4.9ghz, (on the exceptionally rare occasion something actually warrants 4.9ghz out of 12 7nm double threaded cores) To be fair, Ryzen Master really couldnt be much more clear about the likelyhood of exactly this sort of thing happening, should you opt to run their totally not stock, just not necessarily the most extreme over-clocking software. And its back to being smoother than a lightsaber through melted butter at anything I can throw at it. Mmm. This cpu is a monster.

> 3 dayOriginally had a 3700x (which I thought was the best overall CPU from the 3000 series due to its 65w performance) and upgraded to a 5800x... instant regret. For starters, the thermals were completely out of hand... temps easily topping 80*c when running standard benchmarks (Cinebench for example)... even when tuning with curve optimizer - which is finicky at best in my opinion as well from a stability standpoint. Yes - I understand its TDP is 105w compared to 65w of the 3700x, but still... it was HOT. Didnt feel like much of an upgrade from a performance standpoint either... lesson learned - 3700x to 5800x (both 8 core) not at all worth the upgrade. I returned it to the local store I bought it at, and told myself if I could snag a 5900x, I would. Got lucky here on Amazon one morning and scored one for MSRP ships & sold by Amazon (wont pay third-party scalper prices). Upon installing, I ran the usual suite of tests to see how it was... my initial reaction was one of absolute surprise - honestly I thought I may have done something wrong. When I fired up Cinebench, the max temp was 62*c. Huh??? Four more cores, same 105w TDP, yet TWENTY DEGREES cooler??? I checked all the BIOS settings (which Id left stock, other than setting my memory profile). Everything was fine. I ran other tests, and it was confirmed across the board... This processor runs extremely efficiently from a thermal standpoint. Obviously the performance increase is something else as well... even with my x470 motherboard, I am seeing incredible performance uplifts compared to the 3700x it replaced.

> 3 dayBig thumb print on the middle of the cpu. Of coarse it did not work either. Have been waiting 2 weeks for a refund and still nothing. Replacement was not an option. I dont think this is a legitimate resaler
