10-06-2025These are working well so far. I may modify them in the future though. First off, I cleaned and soaked them in warm water for 24hrs just in case to remove any manufacturing residues from them as you should any product, but especially so aquatic pet products. After that inoculated them with proper nitrifying bacteria and put them into service. The only down side so far is that the air release holes at the bottom of the air tube are so small salts in the aquarium accumulate relatively quickly and reduce air flow, which causes cleaning in my case in as little as couple weeks. I may start by open the holes a bit to lengthen the air flow time frame (note this salt issue is normal and not because of the filter itself.). Secondly I may do the “air stone mod” (look it up online) to these filters just to simplify efficiency and slightly quiet them. Although personally for me they are not loud at all. They have been in use for few weeks now and have NOT killed any fish or other craziness others have mentioned, but again I take steps to reduce issues in the first place.

> 3 dayI was weary because of the reviews. Note that these do not have room for an air stone. I highly suggest modifying it so you can place an air stone inside of it. 1 day later, my tank is crystal clear with no particles. I do have a hang on the back filter but this makes a wonderful addition for extra filtration. Highly recommend.

> 3 dayFirst of all,For a 25 gallon tank, the weighted base that comes with this filter is heavy enough to keep it down. So be prepared to weight it down using other methods. Filtration is good, bubbles okay, and the noise level of the filter is also good.

> 3 dayYou honestly can’t beat this purchase for the price! I have 2 of these in my 20 gallon long betta tank (not sure I really need 2 but with bettas you can’t have heavy flow, so just in case) and the water is so crystal clear! I did end up cutting the internal connector piece so I can fit an air stone in there (YouTube has how to videos). I also have one in my 36 gallon for extra filtration and I was so pleased, I ended up purchasing another pack for back up. Great product, thank you!
