> 3 dayPay more and get an ATI sponge filter. If you do get this you need to wash and rise the crap out of this with hot water to get the chemical smell out of it. The lift tube is only 3 inches. Way too short. There is no provision to use your own air stone you will need to modify it. It will float unless you squeeze it and let it soak up aquarium water. If you got time and are willing to do some tinkering then its a good value.

How it functions:
Sponge filter is an efficient and excellent method of filtration for your fish tank. This sponge filter works with an external air pump or an integral water pump.
The air pump pushes air into the hollow cavity inside the sponge filter thru the tubing, and bubbles rise from the toplift tube thus drawing water thru the sponge walls. It provides mechanical and bio filtration for your tank.
Easy maintenance:
Scoop some old tank water out of your tank into a bucket; wash the sponge in the water and squeeze out the buildup until it"s clean. Sponge needs to be cleaned every month. It"s recommended to change out 25-30% of the water weekly.
