This is an upgrade for my old laptop computer. I do not use a desktop anymore. I am very happy with this new ASUS of mine.

After only using this laptop for one week it suddenly stopped booting up past the welcome screen. I have used computers for many years and this was the first time I had encountered this. I have no idea why it did this but I did see where this could be a common issue with Asus.

stopped working after 4 months

I was really enjoying my new computer. It was running smoothly and meeting all my basic/work needs. I generally only run a web browser with a few tabs and some subtitle editing software for work. However, after only a month of use it now just randomly shuts down every few minutes making it nearly impossible to get work done in a productive and timely manner. Im really frustrated with my purchase and hoping this improves. Its shut down 3 times just while writing this review.

If you bought this with 16GB RAM, 4GB is already set for Vega3 graphics in BIOS which you can adjust to your liking. Also, your SSD comes pre-formatted with a recovery partition that stores an OEM copy of Windows10 and the recovery tools, which is usually about 10GB, plus Windows terrible NTFS formatting loss = usable space of 237.5GB< out of a 256GB SSD about.

if you plan on using it for anything and i mean anything other than googling, your gonna wanna bring a charger with you. The screen is rather dull and lacks vibrance, not my choice for netflix without a second external monitor. However it packs enough punch to play some games and runs autocad like a charm. Overall a good computer unless you dont have an outlet nearby

Excellent laptop for remote work. A couple surprises upon setup: 1) the generous 15.6 screen looks surprisingly small and I may have to invest in a second desktop screen to add to the system, and 2) there is no disc drive (the capacity is for zip drives), so I did have to purchase an external disc drive separately.

The seller got the item sent to us very quickly and in time for Christmas. So far, the laptop appears decent, although I’ll update this review if that changes. It came with 20GB ram rather than the 16GB advertised (yay) but only 238GB hard drive rather than the 256GB advertised (boo). I think they got confused by the way that memory works - the computer has 254,930,128,896 bytes, which may have looked to them as being 255GB but megabytes have 1024 bytes in them rather than 1000 bytes, so it’s not. Still, it’s more than enough storage for our needs, so I’ll let it go.
