Makes a noticeable difference in print quality. Good quality parts. Looses 1 Star overall and 3 on Assembly because it didn’t ship with instructions. It’s not all that difficult to figure out, but still- that’s just a lousy bit of oversight.

This is a bundled package of all the recommended upgrades for your Ender 3 v2 printer. I would suggest making the upgrades as you are setting up your printer. All upgrades were easily executed using only the tools that come with your printer. I did have a missing part and notified First Layer. They responded quickly and shipped out the item, plus additional items. I would strongly recommended this upgrade for its quality, convenience and customer service from First Layer.

This kit arrived in good time from Amazon and was packaged adequately with no damages upon arrival. First thing I looked over was the metal extruder. It looked to be in good order and appeared to be more durable than the plastic one that came with the machine. I took off the old extruder and replaced it with the new one. Although there werent any actual instructions it did come with a parts chart that showed where everything went. No instructions shouldnt be of any issue to someone who is going to be doing their own upgrades anyway. Plus, there are tons of YouTube videos of people changing these out that you can look up. It installed very easily and only took about 5-10 minutes from start to finish on this part of the upgrade. I had no issues with the bowden tube fittings. They screwed right in and are staying tight. I cut loose the old bowden tube from the wire harness when I took off the old extruder. After getting the extruder squared away I measured out how long my current tube was and cut off a piece of the tubing that came with the kit. I easily have enough for 2 printers with the length that was sent. One important thing to do in this step is to cut the tubing as square as possible. I have a jig I used but I know there are some good tubing cutters out there that work very well. Connected the tubing to the extruder and hot end and replaced the zip ties that I had cut off earlier. From here I went on to replace the bed springs. Just looking at the new ones compared to the old ones you can tell immediately that the upgrade springs are much more substantial than the stock springs. This part was a little more harder to do than the extruder. I had to pull back the corner of the sticky magnetic sheet that is on the bed to reveal the screw that holds on the round adjustment wheel. I did it cold, but maybe a little heat from a hair dryer or heat gun would help. You have to take off the wheel completely then pull the screw out. Pull out the old spring and replace with the new. Be very careful replacing the new spring. I didnt have any trouble with it, but I could see that one miscue and youd have to find your spring from across the room. Put the screw back in through the spring and replace the wheel. Put the corner of the magnetic sheet back in place and repeat for all 4 corners. I was doing this on a Creality Ender 3 Pro, for me the back left corner was the hardest due to thats where the bed heater wires are attached to the bed. Be very careful here not to pull out your wires. Relevel your bed and youre ready to go. I did notice that the adjustment wheels were much stiffer to turn and didnt move on incidental touches that can happen. My guess it that this should keep you from having to do bed leveling as often. I then did a 6 hour print. I noticed that there was much less filament dust than usual. I could tell a very slight quality improvement, it seemed to me that the print was a little smoother than the same print I did with the old plastic extruder. Over all I think that this is one of the best upgrade kits you can get for your printer. Its not expensive, its easy to install and you notice the benefits immediately. If you made it to the end of this thank you for reading it all and have a great day and print on!

I was worried about installing this due to hearing a lot of people having issues on the forums about the bltouch but honestly I thought the instructions were straight forward and the only one troubleshooting problem I had was dealt with swiftly and expertly by this company’s customer support. Capricorn is a must have for any printer owner and these springs are much better than the ones that came with my ender 3 pro. Worth the money.

A metal extruder is a must have for any Creality 3D printer. The plastic one is good, but will fail eventually.

Upgraded tubing and filament feeder from the plastic one that comes with Ender 3 Pro since I was having trouble printing. Once the upgrade was done the upgrade works well and the machine is printing.

Compared to the original tubing and extruder, this definitely improves a couple things. First is that my material is able to feed through the tube way easier than before. This will definitely put less stress on filament knob that pushes the material through. I had a problem before where there was too much friction which caused the stepper motor to skip since the knob couldnt push the filament through. With the new knob in place, I dont worry as much since theres less friction in the tubes. Squeezing the new aluminum extruder is easier than before and doesnt hurt my hand as much when changing filaments; so thats also a plus. Lastly, the springs are very reliable even after multiple prints, they seem to be in the same place. Ive used a silicone one before for bed leveling and those were so unreliable as the heat would change its consistency and level. Overall, pretty good upgrade if you asked me.

This item is an absolute necessity for new printer owners the metal extruder is as the stock plastic one is known to break. The Capricorn PTFE tubing is an absolute must particularly if you’re interested in printing with flexible filament and I highly recommend this item. Also first layer is a great seller had good experiences with them so far
