Not impressed with Capricorn tube. went back to the white that came with my printer. Next day delivery took 3 days. Want a better review, make some changes.

The aluminum extruder is excellent! Very easy install! I ordered this kit when I ordered my printer, that way I was ready and upgraded from day one. I quickly found, however, that one of the included upgrade fittings was faulty. I contacted the seller, First Layer, and told them what had happened, it was simply a bum fitting, likely just a manufacturing defect. Within a couple hours, I had already received a reply. They apologized for the setback, and asked to confirm my address so they could send me a replacement. Not only did they replace the single failed fitting, they sent me an entire kit containing 4 fittings and about 3 feet of Capricorn tubing, with an extra tubing cutter! I couldn’t be happier with my purchase, and First Layer stands by their product. But with confidence!

I wanted to upgrade every single part (bar the clips) that is in this product even before I saw it listed. I’ve now subsequently saved a good 10-15 dollars by buying this. I’m happy, my wallets happy, my Ender5 printer is happy. Happy days. Also the couplings are drastically better than the ones I had before and so far this tubing seems a lot more slippery than what came with my printer.

The aluminum extruder plate was not threaded at all. There is no way to connect the Bowden tube coupler to the plate. ZERO Quality control. Awaiting an answer from FirstLayer on a replacement. The bag is labeled Authentic Creality Upgrade for all Creality printers. Is this a Creality problem or a FirstLayer problem? We shall see.

I got this little Gem and installed it on my CR-6 se after having the crack issue with stock. It is an easy swap out actually getting the old one off takes longer. Recalibrated and went back to printing and the one verbally quality increased over stock. Going to order a few more for my other printers.

I am aware that Creality sells Capricorn stock with its Ender 5, so why doesn’t it sell them stock with the Ender 3 pro? I bought an Ender 3 pro over Christmas and after looking at advice on the forums I ended up buying this bundle. Moreover, these fittings are blatantly better than the ones that came with my E 3 pro which makes me again beg the question, why are Creality’s so bad? Icing on the cake has to be the springs for me though as they are so much stronger (same with the fittings) than my old ones. Great bundle and easy to install and very reasonably priced, I just kind of feel Creality should be stepping up its game with its stock ender 3 pro accessories.

Helped alot to keep the filament feed smooth and the print quality improved.

After a year of running the stock plastic extruder and tubing. I decided to change it. Ive had a couple of the plastic parts break off, suffered from some gear drag, print failure, and the small feed area where the filament enters the extruder was sharp, causing the filament to shave. Also, I discovered a crack on the bottom of the arm. In the past, Ive had excellent service and other products from F1RST LAYER, so there was no doubt where I would spend my money. The package arrived in short order and the install was simple. I would tell you to clean (learn how to) your hotend before installing the new Capricorn Bowden Tube. Its not terribly difficult. In short, turn the unit on and disable the steppers. Heat the hotend to 200 degrees, unload the filament. Remove the pneumatic fitting at the top of the hotend. Make note of how deep the tube is and match the length of the new tubing. Cut them to match. Cut at a 90-degree angle, this will ensure a proper fit and lessen the chance of leaks. Disconnect the tube connector and press the old tube into the hotend, remove any filament with a pin from inside the tube. Repeat until it is clear of filament and there is none oozing from the nozzle. Remove and replace the nozzle with a new one (not included) You should have some that were supplied with the Ender. If not clean with a brass brush and reinstall. Now, with the hotend still at 200 degrees, install one of the stainless steel pneumatic fittings. DO NOT over-tightening, but make it tight, you dont want to crack the heater block. Take the new Bowden tube and press it down through the stainless fitting into the hotend with some pressure to make it seat all the way down. Hold it there for about 15 or 20 sec so the tube heats up and seats properly. Power off the unit. Mount the Extruder according to the F1RST LAYER supplied directions. Turn the power on and heat the hotend to 200 degrees. Feed the filament into the tube while holding the feed arm you should manually extrude several mm of filament through the nozzle. Power it down and make all connections secure. Reconnect the new tubing to the wire loom just like it was, and youre done.

Very nice kit ,the only thing is the longer springs that makes your printing hight shorter by a 5 mm +/= on ender 3 .

The square mount piece I received is different from what’s pictured and other reviewers. Mine wasn’t tapped for the pneumatic fittings, instead it uses a plastic collet to hold the tubing in place.
