These things really throw the sparks.. Be careful as it may put a fire right where you dont want one...

These came nicely packaged. They are nice and beefy. Throwing lots of sparks is easy.

Throws a lot of nice hot sparks even when its wet...but those wont light a fire if you dont prepare kindling properly... especially if the burnables around you are wet Can these rods start a fire? You bet. But if you dont study fire preparation and PRACTICE IT these will just be a waste of money and you would have been better served with a Bic lighter. If you buy these and havent started a fire with one before....train with them and they will serve you well.

Bought for my sons for camping/scouts they are great just gotta scrape off some of the paint stuff to get the good sparks my 8 year old has no problem getting some solid sparks to start a fire

These are big, heavy, and they last. Worth the purchase of you ask me.

Throws a fountain of sparks.

This item works like a rod should, it throws lots of sparks without any effort. Others I have used you might get one or two sparks not this one. The only downside if you worry about it is while it does have a hole for para-cord etc. to be attached in needs do be small cord. I dont use real big stuff but I dont use fine stuff either so if you want to attach cord make sure it is a small diameter. Guess you could drill the hole out but I have not done so. I will be ordering more for the rest of our Get Home Bags as well as Christmas presents for our sons and the older grandchildren.
