Good umbrella for rain and night. Not for severe storms

Supposed to protect better from wind and rain but it’s as fragile as a cheaper umbrella and size definitely smaller than what I thought I was getting

To replace an older style inverted umbrella. I had to push one button that would only open that umbrella.

To start with: the leather cover is not. It is vinyl. This is why the deducted star. However . . . as something to shove a wet umbrella into, a vinyl sheath is way better than leather. So maybe I shouldnt have deducted . . ? Whatever. After literally decades of using a cheapie ($2-3) umbrella to keep in the car, I was finally unable to find it for sale anymore. So I came here and looked for something. I decided to look for something sturdy rather than small -- size is less of an object for a car umbrella than a pocket umbrella, and the really compactly-folding ones tend to have only 6 ribs and to be hard to fold up. I also wanted to be able to fold the canopy closed with the button -- its very handy when getting into the car in heavier rain to not have to use two hands to try to pull the umbrella completely closed before you can bring it in and shut the door. I have only used this umbrella once, well several times but only in one rain event, but I can already see it was the perfect choice: sturdy, easy to open through a narrowly opened door, fairly easy to close the canopy to bring it back inside the car. The button IS a bit stiff, but makes it harder to accidentally close the umbrella as one reviewer mentioned had happened. I very much recommend this umbrella to anyone looking for an umbrella to keep in the car.

I walk a lot and an good umbrella is essential. I already own 2 other inverted umbrellas, and decided to try this one too. It is durable and matches the description. I think it would be great to use when entering a car, but I dont drive enough to care about this. While I like the product, I personally will not purchase this again because it is noticeably heavier to carry. Also when it opens and closes (you push a button) it goes with such force, that I question if this will be the feature that will fail first. If you dont plan on needing to carry an umbrella daily or will use it to keep in the car, it is perfect. If not there are lighter inverted umbrellas.

I have a ton of umbrellas. But work would not allow them on site. So I needed this type. I picked up one at the local store and found one of the spires broken while using it at work. Clearly it was already broken when I purchased it. I hadnt noticed it had a designer label affixed. So, I looked for a solution closer to my monster umbrella. This one was engineered to take a beating. The craftsmanship is superb. Each spoke is really two and it is sturdy. The reflective edge is a really nice touch -- not sure why others didnt think of it. My only issue with the umbrella is the dome size -- I wish I could get one of this quality and design with at least 12 inches more in diameter. It would prevent getting soaked when the winds gust. Otherwise, the prices is fair and I received it quickly. Thanks for creating a very nice item.

So far this appears to be a very nice and sturdy umbrella that is well-sized for an individual. Id say its a tad small for a couple to use for any distance. The opening and closing mechanism appears to work very well. It does take a bit of pressure to compress the shaft when closing and it does pop into action with some force. I bought it as a travel umbrella for a trip to Europe but I feel it is a bit big and heavy for my day bag. But those qualities are due to its sturdiness. This folds down to 13 and I think I need something that will shrink to about 10 but that, of course, will mean smaller coverage. However I plan to use this now as my primary umbrella at home. I dont understand the addition of the extra leather pouch (that seems more like plastic) except that it is easier to put the folded umbrella back into it rather than the smaller, tighter color-coordinated nylon sheath. So while this doesnt satisfy the need I had in choosing it, I am still very pleased with the purchase and recommend it for everyday use at home. I do wish it came in some brighter colors as I am often leaving my umbrellas behind!

There are a ton of options on Amazon when it comes to travel umbrellas. Ultimately, I chose this one primarily because I wanted better quality, canopy size, and strength. I have used it about a dozen times so far, though not in significant wind, but here are my takeaways. Seems reasonably well made, but nothing that stands out other than the rib count and the fact that they use fiberglass in the rib construction. Here are the cons: despite being 210t, the black fabric is thin enough to allow light through which seems odd. It does seemsto shed water quite well due to the teflon coating, well see if it lasts. The handle is hard plastic, I was expecting a rubberized surface with more grip, and its frankly smaller than it should be. The strap is wide nylon webbing, and the opening is not large enough for more than meduim-large size male hands. There is slop in the shaft as you spin the umbrella left and right. May be of no consequence as far as performance, but makes it feel less solid. and finally, the open close action seems unbalanced. The umbrella opens lazily, but snaps closed with great force. The force required to close and cock the mechanism is not insignificant, either. Doesnt really bother me, but it might bother others. I suspect this might be an earlier version of this umbrella, and if so, I would suggest trying the newer one. For the money, not a bad value, but I was expecting to be more impressed.
