Teeth yellowing? Rotting? Aging? Do you use whiteners all the time because you’re afraid of matcha stains, golden milk stains, Ube latte stains and wine stains? Are you a millennial watching your teeth age before your eyes, afraid of the consequences of age everywhere, including your teeth? Yup. You just won the teeth lottery. You found the toothpaste you’ve been crying out helplessly for. Dreams of losing all your teeth begone for Boka is here. Will edit review later to include long-term improvements but daaamn my teeth are whiter then the snow capped mountains of the Pacific Northwest.

So, the title of my review may seem odd for a toothpaste…but if you have limited manual dexterity due to injury (as I do) or arthritis, things like an easy to grip/twist cap and a softer plastic tube really do make a day to day difference! This was not my reason for buying Boka toothpaste (bought it for the remineralization and interesting flavors [i like Tom’s of Maine’s fennel toothpaste]), but I am really chuffed that the design of the tube has made my life easier. I used Hello Sensitivity before, and that cap was a nightmare - too hard to flip open, even for my husband. The Boka tube is more flexible, too, making it easier to squeeze out the last few blops of paste. Regarding flavor, I’ve only tried Lemon Lavender so far…it’s interesting, and tasty, but not “refreshing” if mint is more your style. It kind of reminds me of less-sweet cupcake frosting. Looking forward to trying Coco Ginger next. Overall, leaves my teeth feeling really clean.

For decades Ive suffered from skin peeling on the inside of my mouth after brushing my teeth. I thought it was a normal part of brushing your teeth since Ive experienced it for so long. I just assumed that it happened to everyone and was a sign that the active ingredients in the toothpaste were doing their job and cleaning your mouth. It was only after a dental hygienist took a huge piece of gooey and disgusting dead skin out of my mouth and showed it to me that I realized that this wasnt normal. She asked me what toothpaste I used, and I told her Crest 3D White. She told me to try using toothpastes free of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) since thats a common irritant. I tried Arm & Hammer Essentials toothpaste since its SLS free, and while it helped a bit, I was still experiencing quite a bit of skin peeling in my mouth. I thought this was the most I could hope for and resigned myself to always suffering from this problem for the rest of my life. Fast forward several months and I randomly came across an article online written by a dentist which included the top 5 toothpastes that he recommends. And in that article he recommended Boka toothpaste as his top choice for a fluoride-free toothpaste and went on to explain that the active ingredient in Boka toothpaste was something called Hydroxyapatite - which has been the gold standard anti-cavity ingredient in Japanese toothpaste for decades. Ive never really been paranoid about avoiding fluoride, but I decided to give Boka toothpaste a shot since I figured that Japan seems to have pretty good health and safety standards in general. And so if they trusted Hydroxyapatite, then it was probably safe and effective. I also asked my dentist about it, and he gave it the thumbs up. I was so happy when I used it the first time and experienced ZERO irritation. No stinging, which I always experienced with normal toothpaste, and, most importantly, NO SKIN PEELING ON THE INSIDE OF MY MOUTH. I was thrilled, and surprised. I couldnt believe that I finally found a solution to this chronic allergic reaction to normal toothpaste that Ive been experiencing for my entire life, and only after one use! And so this toothpaste gets a 5 stars from me for that alone. To rate the other aspects of the toothpaste, the mint taste seems more mild and natural. And so thats a plus as well. But theres a couple of minor downsides. 1) its a bit pricey, but thats not a deal breaker for me since I only use a pea sized amount twice a day; whereas with other toothpastes I used to use about an inch of toothpaste. 2) the twist-off cap is slightly annoying since Im worried about dropping it and having to wash it. I much prefer the always-attached flip cap design on more mainstream toothpastes. And 3) I prefer the metallic bodies of old school toothpaste tubes since it makes it easier to roll it up as you use it and get every last drop out of it. But again, those 3 minor gripes arent enough to prevent me from giving this toothpaste 5 stars. Ill always be grateful for this company and a loyal customer for creating a toothpaste which cured a chronic health issue that I had been dealing with ever since I was a kid. Please never stop making it!

I never thought I’d be a person with a favorite toothpaste, but I’ve been using this stuff for years now after seeing a TikTok praising nanohydroxyapatite and I will not use another brand. It works great, tastes clean and my teeth always feel better after brushing.

Apparently, from using a whitening charcoal toothpaste, I did something that made my teeth hurt. I had discomfort for about a year before I found this toothpaste. It says it remineralizes your teeth and I guess thats what it did. After about 2 month, my teeth stopped hurting. Im really happy.

So far it’s been working well for me after a few months of usage. I don’t know if it’s actually reminderalizing my teeth as I heard glycerin counteracts the effects of the hydroxyapatite but I do feel better about not using SLS and fluoride on a daily basis. Pleasant taste and good consistency. Even my kids love it!

Only received it yesterday, therefore can hardly review it. Many toothpastes irritate my mouth. This one hasn’t yet. The taste is very pleasant. I hope this helps my review.

I ordered all three to try the different flavors. They are all nice if you like the actual flavor. Mint tastes like what youd expect toothpaste to taste like. The Coco Ginger, if you like ginger, is very good. I was super impressed with the lemon lavender as its light and refreshing.
