Boyd Enterprises ABE16742 Chemipure Elite for Aquarium, 6.5-Ounce

Beware of this product. Within 48 hours it has killed off the soft tissue of one of my corals and drastically dropped the Ph. I know many swear by this and thats why I left it on that the extra day after I noticed some tissue die off, but after it got worse I removed it. Very dangerous for corals that feed from nutrients as this will suck it out of the water immediately.

Package was opened and content was used.

Unfortunately my work in the Aquarium industry does not leave me with a lot of time to maintain my own tanks. Chemipure keeps my tanks in pristine condition even when I neglect to do water changes as often as I should.

Im unsure of exactly how I feel about this product. When I received it from Amazon, the zip tie was hanging out from under the lid. This made the seal broke and half of it was dried out. How did the manufacturer not see this? I contacted the manufacterer about this product to ask if it is supposed to be wet. I never heard from them. I found out online that yes it is supposed to be wet. So I sent it back to Amazon for a replacement. When I received the new one, guess what? The zip tie was hanging out from under the lid and the seal was broke. This time the top was only a little dry. So I kept it and rinsed it off thoroughly. It was a big bag of media and powder. Ive never had a media like this. So I put it in the tank and one of the things I dont like is the blackness spreads through out the tank. It filled up my filter material and I had to keep changing it out everyday/every other day. I rinsed it well, so Im not sure why there is so much black powder spreading around. Some of my rock turned black. The product works really well. I started to see my tank clearing up. Unfortunately, it seemed to last less than a month. I only have 2 small fish in a 14gal tank. Not sure why it wouldnt last longer. With all the issues, Im just going to stick with what I have been doing that works well. GFO & Carbon.

Have used in pico reefs and planted tanks with great results,helps keeps water clear and parameters in check.

This is a convenient little size for my tank. Also works very well to do what it says it does.
