Its very good, I mean whats there to really talk or say about a Hard drive that works just fine, right? Well, it gets a little Hot and I dont know if it should be doing that, but that aside, its perfectly fine!

I bought the 1TB version on sale for $69. The Buffalo name has been around for quite a few years, so I don’t consider them an off-brand, but when I saw this 1TB USB drive for such a low price, I was pretty skeptical and wondered if it wasn’t some knockoff company trying to sell their garbage as the Buffalo brand. I figured since this was still Amazon I’d give it a try since I could always return it if I felt I got scammed. I’m used to the nice metal casing and overall “heft” you get when you buy drives like the Corsair GTX so when this Buffalo arrived, I was nearly positive I got scammed because the plastic casing they use is quite cheesy and very lightweight. It almost feels like it’s going to break if you carry it around in your pocket. Nevertheless, I plugged it into my computer and it did indeed show up as 1TB. I’m aware that there are plenty of knockoff USB drives out there that use creative formatting and bogus firmware to trick your computer into thinking it’s a large drive, so the first thing I did was clean it off and create a brand new partition (which did format as 1TB). After that I started copying ~930GB worth of media. This is where I started to realize this was a legitimate drive because it sustained ~115MB/s of write speed (I was copying from the network and this is nearly it’s maximum throughput) throughout the entire copying process. Once it was done, I played each of the copied files and skipped throughout various portions to make sure the entire thing copied correctly. You know what? It did. Every single one was perfect so this drive is definitely the real deal. This drive isn’t $69 anymore, but it looks like it’s still on sale so if you want a fast/large drive you can carry around with you, then I would recommend giving this Buffalo a try. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the casing they use is pretty chintzy.

I bought a similar item to back up my files. It took about 5 hours and ended up having a couple of files missing(not properly copied). I returned it and got this. This one took a little over 1 hour to copy and move all my files with no missing ones. Capacity is as it says.. Love it..

I needed something to backup my important files, and I found it in this device. Its a little more storage than I needed but I figured Id never run out. It does run slightly warm to the touch but after you unplug it this subsides quickly. Altogether, it works. Nothing more to say.

This is an outstanding product I had a doubt that the advertised speed could be real but I ordered it hoping it would be even 50% of what they said. However, after I got it I found that my dream came true. It.s small, easy to use and super fast

I have a large collection of music and was tired of carrying 2 hard drives. Reliable and pretty fast.

My only complaint is it feels fragile and cheap.

Drive came with a Windows OS format. I reformatted as MacOS Journaled. Shows 1TB but also indicates it is NOT an SSD drive. Nonetheless, the storage is accurate, the price is fair, and it transfers at 600MB/sec from my macbook.

I do not think this unit is boasting on high speed... it does what it says it will do, and I expect a little more. I was incredibly surprised how well this unit works... True Plug and Play for Windows 10 (Have not tried any other OS to date). It comes with USB-C and works on my Android!
