> 3 dayI understand that its an SSD device, but since it comes in the USB stick form factor I judge it as such and its so much faster than any USB stick Ive used! Very impressed!

> 3 dayI barely used it, I had used it for some file storage between devices, and had formatted it a few times going from NTFS to FAT32, to ext4. But now it just doesnt work at all. My workstation detects it. and recognizes it as a storage device that is 500gb, but I cant mount it, or reformat it. I could tell it was on its way out when my write speed absolutely hit the floor when writing files to it. At best it was doing 19mb/s, and at worst it was stalled out in the single digit kb/s range. Honestly not worth the money, since you can get Microcenter USB sticks for super cheap, and theyre just as effective. Really disappointed with this little guy, since it was super promising.

Greater than one weekThis works great for the money. Storage is good and it is very fast. The only complaint is the plastic casing is very light weight and feels cheap.

> 3 dayWorks great for my Xbox on so far. You do have to format it correctly with a computer. It does feel very cheap.

> 3 dayGot this on sale for $65 or so.. Was getting insane transfer speeds from an internal nvme drive to this via a super speed USB port. Impressed so far.

> 3 dayI bought the 1TB version on sale for $69. The Buffalo name has been around for quite a few years, so I don’t consider them an off-brand, but when I saw this 1TB USB drive for such a low price, I was pretty skeptical and wondered if it wasn’t some knockoff company trying to sell their garbage as the Buffalo brand. I figured since this was still Amazon I’d give it a try since I could always return it if I felt I got scammed. I’m used to the nice metal casing and overall “heft” you get when you buy drives like the Corsair GTX so when this Buffalo arrived, I was nearly positive I got scammed because the plastic casing they use is quite cheesy and very lightweight. It almost feels like it’s going to break if you carry it around in your pocket. Nevertheless, I plugged it into my computer and it did indeed show up as 1TB. I’m aware that there are plenty of knockoff USB drives out there that use creative formatting and bogus firmware to trick your computer into thinking it’s a large drive, so the first thing I did was clean it off and create a brand new partition (which did format as 1TB). After that I started copying ~930GB worth of media. This is where I started to realize this was a legitimate drive because it sustained ~115MB/s of write speed (I was copying from the network and this is nearly it’s maximum throughput) throughout the entire copying process. Once it was done, I played each of the copied files and skipped throughout various portions to make sure the entire thing copied correctly. You know what? It did. Every single one was perfect so this drive is definitely the real deal. This drive isn’t $69 anymore, but it looks like it’s still on sale so if you want a fast/large drive you can carry around with you, then I would recommend giving this Buffalo a try. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the casing they use is pretty chintzy.

> 3 daySo Im starting to understand a little bit better the value of getting an SSD even if it is an external one. The power requirements for mechanical driver pretty much heart wrenching especially when youre transferring drive to drive . This little puppy is very smooth, and Im really glad for it. I still have a say it a hard drive in the USB enclosure and that still goes fast but if I put any more than that drive on a USB hub it tends to disconnect randomly. This SSD is much better.

Greater than one weekArrived in working order. But the transfer speed seems ancient. Im currently transferring about 60gb to it, and its going to take 30 minutes, at 35-40 MB/s. Fair warning. Still happy with the sale price, though.
