Heats up very fast. Ive upgraded from a cheap soldering iron and the difference is night and day. Perfect temperature to melt solder, but not damage nearby components. I cant believe I didnt get gone sooner!

Absolutely loving it! I used a cheap soldering iron before, and I struggled having nice solder joints, and really had a bad experience. With the hakko 888d I enjoy my build! I use it for building racing quadcopters and all the little delicate parts, and the thick cables just are very easy to connect while using it.

Best of the best! Worth the investment. Easy to switch out tips. Warms up fast, cools down slowly. Wish mine came with the side clips... was left out of the package for some reason.

Worked great the first time I used it. About 20-30 min. Pulled it out yesterday and now it wont hold any other temperature than 750. I set to higher and it immediately starts counting back down to 750. Always 750. I tested with a thermal couple and the actual temp read 704. I will be returning...

Great price point! I use this about 4 or 5 times a day in my workshop! Very compact not taking up to much room on my work bench! I would recommend to anyone!

No prior experience soldering so nothing to compare to. But it worked great and I was able to swap out a power supply in a 14k watt amp with about 20 joints.

This is the best soldering iron I have ever used and Ive owned many cheap ones in the last 40 plus years. I finally decided to put the money in this unit in hopes of never having to buy another one! I work on guitars and amps and HiFi gear and well, the short time Ive had it, Ive been extremely pleased with it and my soldering skills have increased exponentially because of the quality of this iron and tip. If you are tired of the results youre getting, even though you know how to solder, then I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get the professional results they should be getting! Its a real joy to use this solder station! It heats up really quick and its easy to change temps if you need to. I have not used any of the presets yet but have lowered the temp some for certain jobs and it will come down very fast and go back up to the temp I select. Dont hesitate to get this station if you are considering it! As I am, youll be very glad you did!

This iron is fantastic!! Im using it primarily for my Electrical Engineering course labs. Ive used it briefly tinkering around, but recently have been putting some good hours on it working on protoboards. I have used several other options, Ive owned a little 25 watt Weller iron, as well as a cheaper full soldering station previously. This iron is much better than anything else ive used. the 70W system heats up very quickly, and it holds very well. The inclusion of the sponge as well as the brass tip cleaner in the base of the unit is nice. The bundle I purchased also came with the CHP170 flush-cut wire snips. These also are great quality.
