Heats up in under 30 seconds, high quality, works amazingly. Cord doesnt get twisted up and annoying like lesser irons. Tip is perfect size/shape for circuit work. Even the sponge is quality. Would buy again.

Best soldering station I have ever owned. I have owned several Weller stations in the past but this Hakko beats them all! It looks like a toy but works like a pro. Heats up super fast, holds temperature extremely well and solders perfectly. Definitely the best bang for the buck in soldering stations!

One of the best hobby solder stations you can buy at a great price. The CHP170 cutter is excellent quality and very precise. I thought itd be a cheap throwaway tool but it has replaced my mini side cutters I used to reach for. The controls are not intuitive but theres a few good YouTube videos explaining the functions and definitely read the instructions. Heat up time is very fast and consistently holds the temp. I calibrated it with my Meterman DMM temp probe. I bought this to replace an aging 40w pencil style soldering iron and I cant believe I didnt get one sooner.

My first soldering station. I read other reviews about complicated temp adjustments and found it pretty intuitive. I just use the enter and up and down buttons and haven`t bothered with any presets yet. The iron heats up to any temperature in a matter of seconds. The iron rest is heavy enough for safe and secure support. I don`t think I could have done any better price or quality wise especially considering it`s my first soldering station.

If you want something that actually works compared to those soldering irons that you plug straight into an outlet without temperature control, this is one of your best and most bang-for-buck options (the other being a Weller). Have logged dozens of hours of soldering on this device on a single tip (chisel) on basic through-hole and some light SMD work without issue. The flush cutters are a nice bonus.

Works well but would suggest getting the extra 12 pack of tips with it. If you are not careful you can burn the tip pretty quickly.

wish the temperature was adjustable by knob rather than buttons. also wish the display showed current temperature. once its warmed up, it only shows the setpoint. Opposite of a Weller.
