CALIFORNIA AIR TOOLS CAT-1P1060SP GAL 56DB Air Compressor

I used this compressor in an industrial setting where it was required to keep kicking on to top up the tank pressure every 12 minutes non-stop, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without pause, forever. Requiring no maintenance (other than draining water from tank) it held up under these unrelenting conditions for 18 months before its pressure shutoff started to get sticky. For the price I am impressed. I replaced it with another, operated under the same never-ending duty-cycle and that is still running strong a year later. I just changed the duty cycle to only 14 hours a day, every day, so who knows how long it will last now... I cant review how loud it is because it is used in an area that is already loud, but this compressor is definitely a great little unit at a great price.

I purchased this because it was supposed quite, compact and only weigh 29lbs. It is quiet once you put the filter on it, it is not 29lbs the ship weight shown on the label is 36lbs. The product description shows 29lbs then if you scroll down and read all the details it discloses the unit weighs 34lbs. Id say its between 34-36lbs which is my first reason for 4 stars. It builds pressure quietly and quickly. My second reason for 4 stars because the first one I was shipped was used and must have been a return. The box was taped over about 4 different times and one of the rubber feet on it was split. Im annoyed by this since I had to box it all back up and waste my time taking it to a UPS store and wait for another to be delivered. Amazon sent me another no charge, it was brand new never opened this time. The hose connection fitting on the replacement leaks air when a hose is not attached which is my 3rd reason for 4 stars. I did contact California tools and they replied promptly the part is in the mail. I appreciate them stepping up and making right. Overall I am happy with the performance of such a small compressor.

Love it, I spent so much time looking for a small air compressor/tire inflator, and I did not want to get one that would take a long time to fill up my truck tires. I have a bad back and i cannot stay in a kneeling positions for very long. I wanted one that would plug into an electrical outlet as well, so the smaller mobile tire inflators had some that could be plugged into a wall outlet but then did not have the battery clamps, i did not want to use the cig lighter port (while traveling), to me that is not a smart thing to do. So, i finally decided on this and could not be happier; I inflated my tire from 35 to 37lbs in about 5 seconds. This thing was super easy to setup and so dang quiet, it did not bother my sensitive ears one bit. I set it up in less than 10 minutes (bought quick connect 1/4 hose and tire gauge with a quick connected already installed on it. I will be back if i have any problems with it.

There is no comparison between this and the old tire inflator Ive used for 25 yrs. The old one is very loud - the CAT compressor is, comparatively, a whisper. Ive filled four tractor tires and used it to blow rain water from hydraulic quick couplers once - it worked perfectly and did it quietly.

I set this product up in my garage for general use. Work Bench, Tires, Stuff, What I found out right away is that if your using this product for like a nail gun, it works just fine. It does not work well on its own when you need a little more than a quick puff of compressed air. I purchased an extra 5 gal air tank and added it to the system. This gave me more volume when using. Good product, Very Quite, It is not fast but does a good job. If I had to do it over again I would by the same product but with more air volume.

Really quiet but not enough power ! I use it for my airbrush , if you going to need it for bigger things I would recommend a bigger one !

This air compressor is pretty lightweight and seems much quieter than my last quiet compressor. Although the noise level may not be significantly lower the quality of the noise is much more tolerable and can be spoken over without raising your voice. It makes enough air to run most trim nailers, but if you try to use this for other high air-volume demanding tools or a framing/roofing nailer - youre a fool

I do not take much time to rate consumable items and this is my first review in more than a year. I must tell you this item met 100% of my need. It runs fine with my framing nailer and is super quiet. I am not measuring decibels, rather making a general statement. This is a great little air compressor. Its not too heavy, its fairly quiet, the controls are easy, I just wish the tank was bigger, and thats on me. I mainly use this little compressor to blow out pedestal fan , dust screens and clean out the dust bunnies in computer cases and it just doesnt hold enough air, which means the compressor is constantly running and Im constantly waiting for it to come back up to pressure. Youll get a good 10-15 secs of good sustained pressure before it needs to reload and I really need upwards of a minute to be effective.

Quit working after 4 months...piece of junk dont buy!!
