This notebook is great for graphite, colored pencils, pastels, and charcoal. Ive also used watercolor pencils with it, and that also works fine. The paper is an excellent quality and thickness for the price, and I use this pad for all my practice pieces (and a few finished pieces). Perfect for newer artists like me.

This is a great drawing pad but not for marker. I son used OHUHU markers to test it out and it bled through. Apart from that the book is sturdy and very good for the price. I would recommend that you dont use markers on there.

Really great for starting out with watercolor. Although, doesnt hold much water if you want to add more layers and depth to the painting.

The paper is good for Watercolor or pencil. Use kneaded eraser with ease to lift pencil without scuffing paper surface. Thickness of paper takes both marker and watercolor well but only has a light tooth, so fantastic for drawing with pastels, graphite, conte crayons, or charcoal.

Bought for a journaling group. Very sturdy and well made.

I use this to experiment with lots of mixed media -- watercoors, markers, pencils, pastels, india ink, I even use it as a scratchboard. For the price, it exceeds expectations. One tiny thing -- if I use heavy permanent marker (like Sharpie) , I can get some bleed-through. Not alot but enough to spot the next sheet below. Easily solved with a separator sheet, so I wont deduct a star.
