Very sturdy backpack, can hold multiple binders, folder notebooks and a lunch bag

This is a very nice looking bag for work. My son wanted something more professional and smaller than his college backpack for commuting on the train. The bottom leather-ish is good if he has to put it down and the fabric is thick and sturdy. The side nets hold thermos/waterbottle. I was nervous about the standard size backpack fitting his laptop (15 x 10) but it fits, no problem. Hoping the straps hold up as other reviews noted that has been a problem. Great backpack!

Extremely comfortable and breathable. The water resistance is amazing, can really handle sustained water exposure. Really happy with the purchase

I bought this backpack recently after my last was stolen. I was looking for something that made organizing my materials easy and was waterproof. I recently traveled to England and my suitcase got lost. The only thing I had was what is packed in this bag for the next 8 days. It was a phenomenal bag. It went everywhere with us, and held everything we needed. I sprayed it with an extra layer of waterproofing spray just to be safe, and it held up beautifully our whole trip. The pockets on the front have many small pockets that make it a breeze to keep pens and pencils within easy reach. The laptop pocket closes with a stretchy Velcro piece which lets you carry items of different sizes in the two pockets easily.

I love carhartt stuff and always have. I dont wear carhartt because its now trendy with the kiddos, Ive earned my carhartt stripes with many years of hard work in the trades. This is the first product that Im disappointed with. I find it odd because I just ordered another carhartt backpack for work which works great, and then ordered this one for fun/vacation. Right out of the box, the zipper for the small compartment catches on the corner EVERY TIME. Its a total pain. Then I learned that there are no returns with this item which really sucks, and seems unlike carhartt. Maybe its an Amazon policy. I dont know about that, but I do know Im stuck with a backpack that drives me nuts and Ill probably never use it. Ill go through the hassel of emptying out my work backpack, using that, and then switching back again. This sucks. Carhartt should stand behind their products, and I really thought they did until now.

I have had this exact backpack for over 4 years and as you can expect from a Carhart, it still looks great. I have received many compliments as I travel for work. We bought one for my daughters boyfriend as part of his college graduation gift and he loves his as well. Highly recommend !!!

Quality control is not good. Theres a lot of symmetry issues with this bag. There are parts of it that are bigger on one side when compared to the exact same part on the other side. But, its a backpack. It probably costs them $5 to build it but it has the Carhartt logo on it so you pay the price. The materials feel cheap especially the shoulder pads and straps. But, the stitching is good.

Extremely durable, looks simple, carried all my textbooks for school, worked as a camera bag when I needed it to and hasn’t shown any signs of wear. My favorite backpack I’ve owned.
