i have multiple timbuk2 classic messengers: different sizes and different generations. this bag is almost perfect. i prefer the strap layout of the previous generation (cam and buckle), but the pocket layout and additional organization in the main compartment address one of the main issues of previous generation bags: if you filled the zipper pouch, you ran out of space in the main compartment. this is no longer the case. medium is perfect for some files, notebooks, and a flat lunchbox along with other edc items (multitool, tiny first aid kit, etc.). you cant go wrong with timbuk2.

The decrease in quality of materials and worksmanship versus earlier versions of the same sold years ago is painfully obvious. Given the cost, the quality should absolutely be higher.

It could use some more pockets on the inside. Otherwise its great.

I never thought *this* would happen...Timbuk2 has, in effect, blown off the bike messenger gig, got a full-time job in an office and become kind of buttoned down. If you were good friends with an earlier version of the Classic Messenger, you might be wondering whats going on and if youll be able to hang out with the new bag in the same way as before.

I run the errands for my office on a daily basis and this bag is perfect to make document deliveries and pick up PO Box mail. It even has space to drop in a bagged lunch. This shoulder strap is comfortable and adjustable. It was exactly what I was looking for at an affordable price.

Great bag. Roomy, minimal (but adequate) organizational pockets, and quality construction. The only reason I dont rate it 4 stars is that it is too small for textbooks. Wide enough and deep enough, but I cant close the flap over my 3-ring binder, even if I extend the compression straps. Also, the cam buckle is difficult to maneuver. Disappointing purchase, but not a deal breaker. I will just save it for those occasions with smaller books, etc.

It fit across body very comfortably. It held what i needed as an airplane carry- on and allowed easy access while standing or sitting, which wasnt always the case with the small backpack i used previously.

I am pleased with my new and first Timbuk2 bag. I needed a high quality case for a large laptop and tech accessories and the large bag definitely fits the bill. This thing was much bigger than I expected but it has the ability to compact to normal size if not full. Great design overall. This will be nice for hauling tech gear around and should travel easily too.
