These watercolors are excellent! I have tried many different types of metallics and pearlescent watercolor pigments and have found them disappointing. I could never quite get the same sheen or luster as I can with gold leaf or gold acrylic. Until now! So happy I took the risk and purchased these paints. They work as an over or underpainting as well as stand alone. Diverse and exactly as advertised. I will definitely purchase this companys products in the future.

Mix with your regular colors to get a pearlescent or shimmery effect Or In Your Face metallic version of it. No need to buy the tempting colorful pallets or individual deep turquise metallics etc.. I LOVE these paints. Super versatile and gorgeous effects. Completely worth the money.

I have bought metallic watercolors before, many times. I like to test out products to find the best ones for my needs and art, but this paint THIS paint surpassed even my wildest expectations! Its hard to catch in a picture just how beautiful it is but from the Tibet Gold to Sterling Silver this set of paints looks too beautiful to be real, and yet, here it is! I will be buying again when I use these up, and testing out other products from this same maker if possible. If youre looking for a good set of metallic paint, look no further.

Yeah, these are expensive. Yeah, they’re almost 3 times of the price of the Kuretake brand gold 6 Pan watercolors. But if you’re serious about your metallics, these are the best out there and nothing even comes close. I have both these and the Kuretake, and I also have a metallic set by Schmincke, as well as a cheaper company called Mozart. I have also tried making my own metallics with Pearlex powder pigments (NOT worth the trouble). I am an avid painter and I paint every day. I have tried a wide range of metallics as metallic accents are extremely important to my style of painting. And please believe me when I say that nothing, NOTHING on the market compares to these in terms of opacity, creaminess, shine and shade range. This company knows what they’re doing, and they’re doing it perfectly. I am in love with how every painting turns out, accented with these metallics. In fact, I believe they give my paintings a gold-leaf look - something that is otherwise extremely messy/ delicate to achieve. These paints are best used with a small brush for acrylic paints. They can be applied on almost any surface. And the consistency can be well controlled by how much water you add. The issue with the Kuretake paints is that, even though they look similar to finetec on the painting, the paints wear down quickly. Finetec lasts forever. You can feel how densely packed each cake is by how long it takes to activate. In the time it took me to use up an entire rectangular pan of Kuretake, I’ve only barely made a dent in a cake of Finetec. So if you’re someone who uses up your paints, it’s actually more economical to get Finetec. No I’m not sponsored by Finetec , just someone who has looked for the perfect paint for a decade and finally found it. Plus, if you are an instagram artist (follow me btw at butterletters), the Finetec palettes are beautiful to photograph next to your art and calligraphy. I never want to include my awkward rectangular Kuretake palette in my photos. But the round, silky, delicious Finetec paints add something so satisfying to my Instagram photos. So there’s that to consider haha! Anyway, I can’t rave enough about these! Time to go paint some more!

These paints are Amazing!! There just what I needed, to add gold touches to my illustrations. Theyre super easy to use, glides on the paper so smoothly with an even coat. The only thing I suggest is applying a light wash of yellow or grey if youre using the silver color. On the places you intended to put matelic paint. It applies easier then painting directly on the paper and I believe it helps the color stand out more.

The Coliro pearl colors have arrived just in time to be added to my holiday greeting cards. I had seen them demonstrated on YouTube, but I did not expect them to resemble actual GOLD metal. They are about the same consistency as my other water color paints and just as easy to use. I am going to have quite a glowing assortment of cards to be mailed.

If you want a paint that gives off a beautiful shine, this palette is for you! I use these on my commissions at conventions and they bring that little extra something to the pieces. They can get a bit temperamental if you use them in big areas, but as thinner detail they work phenomenally. They also work splendidly to cover over dark inks and colors. I can’t recommend these enough.

Got this palette to make Christmas cards and they exceeded expectations! There is an array of gold colors which each had their own unique shimmer and base color so that one can find the color which has the desired effects. I was surprised at how easily the colors activated with water, and when using a #3 WC brush the amount of color pigment went just as far as the amount of water in the brush. I was able to produce not only a varied-colored (gold & silver) wreath, I was also able to create a handdrawn gold border on other watercolor cards I had made. Look forward to using this set in the years to come!!!

These paints are a bit thicker than actual watercolors and dont quite behave like them either. So they are a bit difficult to work with if youre doing wet on wet. But they work amazingly well for wet on dry! The one major downside I found while working with these is that they dont pick up like normal watercolors so if you make a mistake its really noticeable.
