> 3 dayFor the most part GatorSkins are really well made easy to manage and tough. Are they bullet proof, probably not. Are they heavy staple proof, maybe for some but in my case nope. As luck has it I ran over a very large and very sharp staple the tip managed to get through, I was carrying quite a bit of weight which I am sure did not help. To be fair that staple would have made it a least partially through a bullet proof vest!! On average before I got the Gators I was getting 3 to 4 flats a month, the few month that I have been using them only once. Those numbers speak for themselves. Wanting to get that number to zero I purchased tire (tube protectors) liners here on Amazon and have not had a single flat in over a month, liners combined with the Gators are doing it for me. And no problem with the ride, no difference at all. Giving the tires a good look over it is obvious I have run over some sharp objects but the GatorSkins are holding their own and I have no hesitation going long distance with them. These tires get all thumbs up.

> 3 dayThese used to be my favorite tires, but one on the last set blew up! In the middle of my second ride on these, I heard a scraping sound and thought it was my gears over/under shifted, but it was the side of the tire opening up about an inch. I inspect my tires before riding and surely would have noticed that they were put on incorrectly, inner tube popping out, etc., but saw nothing. Pressure at about 90 psi, well within limits, the terrain was flat at that point and on paved road, and the brakes were not scraping the tire. I am feeling that it was a factory defect, but I am not perfect and could have done something to cause the problem. I replaced the tire with a middle grade one and still have a Gator Skin on the other wheel. Buy your Gator Skins, but beware that one fan of them had a bad experience.

> 3 dayI have used these tires for about 7-8 years. Ive got new sets about 5 years ago but I dont ride as much as I used to. Just writing that they have served me well in durability and puncture resistance. They are similar to hard tires in auto racing in that they are more for durability than for grip and speed. The 2 dots: Lots of people thinking the 2 dots/snake bite/etc. on the tires are a defect. They are tire wear indicators. If you locate the 2 dots, look at the sidewall with a good flashlight and you will see a triangle arrow and TWI written next to it. It is only printed on one side. When both of the 2 dots are no longer visible, the tire needs to be replaced. Of course dont ignore other signs of a bad tire such as too many punctures and damage to the sidewall.
