22-11-2024So far so good. Seem incredibly fast compared to my previous tires. Smooth ride. I swear though when I first started they felt a bit slippery, but maybe cause wasn’t used to the change in feel on the road. The only thing negative I’ll say is they were hard to get on the rim. Probably partly to do with my lack of skill with road bike tires, but that last 1/6 of the tire was difficult. I had to use by plastic tire remover to work it back on. Will update if anything negative to report soon - like a blowout of the tire.

> 3 dayReplaced the 23s on my 2012 TCR with these 25s. Went on easy over some Conti tubes (700x20-25 race tubes) and I had no issues whatsoever with frame or rim brake clearance. After the first 100 miles, they ride smooth and comfortable, address tight turns well and handle road debris and even the occasional couple of wake-up bumps with no concerns. Ill suggest them to friends and will definitely buy them again if the need arises. For those concerned about the authenticity due to them not having that PolyX Breaker insignia shown in some of the pics and Contis own marketing images: They (Continental) appear to have minimized the logo on the tire over the last year or so. Ive attached a photo of this same tire on display at a Trek store in Dallas, TX, and you can plainly see the logo and insignia are just like the latest pics of this tire as purchased from Amazon (like mine). As for the 2 tiny machined holes in the middle of the tire, they are (as several others here have pointed out) treadwear indicators purposefully molded in by Continental. They are even identified as such on the sidewall just under each one on either side with arrows pointing up at them. They are nothing of concern and do not negatively impact wear or traction.

> 3 dayBest road tiers I’ve had I don’t race, just ride often. Maybe flat once a year.

> 3 dayI replaced my old gator skins after about one year and 2000 miles, and as I was replacing them, I realized I could have used them much longer--still had a lot of tread left. My trail is somewhat smooth, but I also ride through the streets of a large city every day.

> 3 dayI used these for about six months. They wear about normal but nothing out of the ordinary. My biggest complaint with these is the beads on these tires dont allow you to stretch them back onto the rim. One day I had a double blowout. I was able to struggle to get one back on one rim but was unable to put the second one back on after about an hour of struggling with it which included breaking one of my tire irons. I walked my bike to a neighboring house and asked them to watch my bike while I got an Uber ride home and came back to retrieve the bike. I took the bike to the bike shop and complained about these tires and the technician said Gatorskins were notoriously known to be a bear to get back on the rim breaking tire irons in the process. I threw these out and got something else and will never buy these again.

> 3 dayStrong and fast. I’ve been riding these through everything a city commute can throw at them with no punctures. This will be my go to roadie tire.
