Corel Painter Essentials 5 Digital Art Suite for PC and Mac (Old Version)

Im somewhat new to actually using painting software. Ive used Photoshop for a couple of years now and am pretty much self taught on how to use it (mostly for photo manipulation) and have been looking for a tool that will artificially paint a photo to give it a painted look without actually having to paint the picture, which is what initially drew me to Painter Essentials.

The product is good, but the customer service from Corel is terrible. Strongly recommend looking for a different product for your needs. Amazon sells many different products to take care of needs. Shop around, dont spend your hard earned money on this product. You will need customer service and Corel currently policy is focused on sales, not retaining customers.

Fantastic program. Interface a little it more complicated than PS 4...Still great to work with....and cheap!

Im really impressed with the new Corel Painter Essentials 5 software, Ive been trying it out for the past 30 days. This is the first time for me using it, but Ive been using similar graphics programs for a number of years now. A lot of them have been Corel products, so there hasnt been too steep a learning curve with my getting started with this software. In fact, its has some similarities with another program that I use - PD Particles. Plus, there is a feature that remind me a lot of the tubes brushes in Paint Shop Pro. But there are a lot of differences and additional features too. I like Painter Essentials particle brushes as well as the FX brushes. I found it very easy to paint a nice fur texture.

I desire to be a photo artist because I have loved photography my entire life (both in front of the camera and behind it). Corel Painter Essentials 5 caught my interest because it is specially designed for art enthusiasts and emerging photo artists who want to go beyond ordinary and turn everyday inspiration into seriously impressive art. It is advertised as easy to be amazing with award-winning Natural-Media brushes, and time-saving painting tools like Mirror and Kaleidoscope that lets one create one-of-a-kind art with just a few strokes. It says that photo-painting and cloning tools are unmatched, transforming your photos into impressionist, oil and watercolor, etc. Well since I am not an expert at this type of software, I do not know how it compares to others, but I feel that this product will serve me well. I am also an author and look forward to creating my own book covers and artwork for my childrens books.

Still just learning the program but it is very impressive so far.

I bought this for my daughter who loves to draw on the computer and she loves it!

The companies customer service is a joke. I got this for my wife for Christmas. Tried to install and it told me invalid code. Been dealing with customer service for over a week abd no results. They keep giving me solutions to issues not related with my ptoblem. I was really excited to see what my wife can do with this but I am very disappointed. Id give it a zero star but I cant.
