Nice upgrade to print at higher Temps. From 260c to 300c Just to let you know that if your thinking to print higher Temps than 300c then look for something else. This caps at 300c Still can print with alot of items but there are more filaments that need higher Temps too. I always though the sprites could print to 300c but guess was wrong on that or this was sold useless but guess they stopped at 260c. I dont think this will require new motherboard but will have to check on that. Memory says some of the other printers have the same setup on motherboard and sprite to get 300c on so maybe install this then upgrade the firmware. For me all my printers have the sprite so when I ready to upgrade I got it. The copper is a good idea to disperse the heat faster too. Hope you consider this when your ready to upgrade too. Good Luck in printing. Experiment only makes you better in printing.

I havent installed this yet, as the hot end in my printer is still working fine; this one was obtained as a spare and is ready for use as soon as its needed.

I got a used Ender 3 V2 for a reasonable price but the previous owner had wrenched on the hot end something nasty and it was all banged up. It intermittently worked fine but was prone to clogging and I wasnt sure what the issue was. Curious about being able to print with different filaments, I bit the bullet and ordered the Sprite Pro. I was a little intimidated about updating firmware and changing settings that Ive never dealt with before but Im a tinkerer and figured the worst case is I can always go back to what I had before. Im happy to say that the installation went smoothly by referencing the videos by Creality, and with a little help from BV3Ds youtube (I didnt know what to do with the extra two connectors on the wiring harness). I also installed a CR Touch with it so that required new firmware anyway. The programming was all straightforward, just make sure to note the existing settings prior to flashing the new firmware. Adjust it all to what it was before except what the documentation notes on e-steps. Adjust the retraction in the slicer and were off to the races. It prints beautifully and nearly silent. I cant wait to try some TPU or other high temp filaments.

For printing materials beyond PLA you might need a hot end capable of higher temperatures and this does it both efficiently and at a reasonable cost. Great retro fit for Creality printers others may need some leads soldered as well as changes to software that allow for temperatures as high as 300 C. Nice bi-metal hot end that keeps temperatures reasonable above the hot end.

I actually got this to scavenge for parts, as I needed a new heater cartridge, thermistor, heat block, and sock after my Chiron had a blowout. The heat break is a little shorter than the one for the chiron, but the lower of the two set screws for the v5 heatsink is more than enough to secure it, and the FTPE tube easily reaches the top of the break. wired everything up, changed the nozzle (the plated one from this went to my ender 3 max neo) and started printing. Have had 2 successful prints with this combo so far, and everything seems to be working great!

I dont know how important the little hole is to have, but the picture on the product page shows it, and I dont like deception like that—other than that, the nozzles are great. I printed TPU and an extremely high temp filament with no problems.

    Greater than one week

Arrived fast, didnt have any issues. Worked fine how it was shipped, but Ive since replaced the throat tube with a Copper + Titanium one because at the time, the titanium only throat tube was the only option. I did this out of personal preference, not out of necessity. I still use the stock Sprite Cooling set up right now, as I havent done much higher temp printing yet, but I have no doubts that this unit should perform well for higher temp printing. The nozzle that came with it works fine, but I did need to tighten it once I got the whole unit installed and heated up (while PID tuning). I have close to 100 hours print time with this unit and its nozzle installed without issues so far. If you are considering upgrading/replacing your Heat Block with a kit like this, just remember: 1- Be careful of the Thermistor and Heat Cartridge wires. 2- Be sure to tune your PID with the Silicone On 3- Make sure to heat the unit up and tighten the nozzle. 4- Readjust your Z offset. You may need to adjust your flow settings too, but I didnt have to.

Only dislike is finding the correct firmware needed. Watch videos on install is big help

I.HATE.CREALITY! I bought this extruder thinking a direct-drive would be less worriesome than a Bowden-style. This device was VERY poorly planned. After installing it, messing around with the cable connections to the board, then flashing the firmware...the Home X Axis command will NOT send the x-axis towards the lmit switch on the left. It constantly nudges the extruder to the RIGHT. Also....trying to Auto-Home the printer sends the X-Axis over and crashes into one of the screws that holds the wheels for the right-side of the gantry...because Creality is just plain STUPID. Dont buy ANYTHING from Creality, they are just GARBAGE!
