Greater than one weekIm not certain what the issue is with the drive. HDDSMART shows it as working perfectly and having good speeds. But about twice a month I get a freeze on my work laptop, which I feel like is coming from the hdd. Im not certain that the drive is at fault, but i believe it is. The issues mainly seem to arise from waking the computer from sleep.

Greater than one weekMy daughters 2012 MacBook Pro non-retina was really getting slow, due in part to her abuse, and age. Replaced with the MX300; wow what a difference. Did not clone her old drive, did a clean install of the OS and all the other software on it. Amazing how much faster this computer is now. Love it, well worth the price and time.

04-06-2025Was excited when I saw the package in my mailbox. With this excitement I go and power down my computer thinking of how my other driver will have some much needed storage support. Go ahead and plug in the cables, dust off its bay, close the case and power this sucker up. I then go and open my disk manager and discover that it doesnt appear there :V. Thinking that I messed something up decide to change cables to another driver that I have plugged in and no go. Seems that I got the lemon of the bunch. Leaving a 2-star review because I have faith that there is still hope for this SSD in my life. Will update when I get the new one.

> 3 dayHad a poorly-performing hard drive in my laptop. Made this my OS drive and then formatted the old on and left it as a secondary. This drive is blazingly fast - from a cold boot, I am at the login in under eight seconds.

> 3 dayEven though I did not get to try these specific 525gb drives out I own plenty of them in various sizes. Well, My rating is not because of the lack of performance on the drive but its lack of compatibility of utility software on other operating systems other than Windows... Cmon Crucial.. Extremely Disappointed in the blatant disregard of supporting a huge customer base of your product. Not only do I use these on my Linux based servers but in my MacBook Pro. So the responses I have received back regarding the unimportance of the software which if true stop advertising it so boldly on your packaging e.g. Storage Executive which increases drive to blazing speeds!!! Supported Operating Systems • Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) • Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit) • Windows 8.1 (32-bit, 64-bit) Yet oddly enough there is no mention on the packaging of this limitation? Or the fact it does not support Raid. Why? Is it not important? I know I would like to have the utilities to tweak my optimal performance also especially thats why I purchased them for my raid db servers and MacBook Pro.. and no I do not wish to go spend my time to R&D other solutions supported by major customer base Operating Systems. I could understand if I was trying to get this to work on some absurd setup. Wake up or hopefully the consumers will and stop buying deceptive marketed drives. I am not allowed to post the link to the PDF but it can be found...

> 3 dayThis Solid State Drive is working Excellent. Computer starts up and is running after BIOS starts in about eight seconds. I needed to contact Crucial to get software recommendations to make the SSD to its fullest size by increasing the partition, as the cloning software that I used (Macrium Reflect) mirrored my computer. Once done, you uninstall the free Partition software and the clone software. For those who have never owned a Solid State Drive, please note that you NEVER Defragment the drive, as this will degrade the performance of your SSD. Just turn this off under services.msc in your start menu. NOTE also, contrary to some websites, you can leave Windows Search turned on as this will speed up your computer even more when looking for things. Remember, DISABLE defragment and ensure that you have Optimize for SSD checked in Macrium Reflect. The clone process takes about One hour on a 500GB HDD to a 698 SSD. I do not recommend the Acronis software as it does not run within a Windows environment and will display errors, use the Free Macrium Reflect software instead.

> 3 dayAfter successfully updating another MacBook Pro (#1) with a Samsung 500GB Internal SSD successfully, I wanted to update another MacBook Pro (#2) with this 750GB SSD from Crucial. I updated the other in November 2015 and it is running without a glitch. With this Crucial, (#2) runs much faster as expected. However, about 4 weeks after install, I started noticing a lot of random shutdowns and spinning globes. I didnt think much of it until these episodes became more frequent. I started running DiskUtility and each time I run it, there is some kind of corruption error or incorrect block count error or invalid free block cont, which DiskUtility seems to successfully repair. Then 1 minute later, a new error appears. Now the random shutdowns are almost daily with no hint of when it will happen. Meanwhile, (#1) which is 3 years older and a less powerful MacBook keeps working perfectly with never an error on DiskUtility. I may have flawed Crucial SSD, but it may just be a cheaper product. Unfortunately, I am past the 30 day Amazon replacement window, so I will try contacting Crucial to see how they honor their warranty. I will update this as I interact with Crucial directly. I give it 2 stars just because of the speed increase. However, stay away from it.

Greater than one weekIve got this for half of the regular price from a blackfriday deal at the Amazon. Installed it yesterday. Works great with my macbook pro mid 2012 13 inch non retina model with Sierra. Boot up speed improved to circa 20 seconds, Programs open as you click on the icons. It is like a new model. Im very pleased with the result so far. Cons: Migration software Acronis serial key which comes in th box only works with windows version of the program. However Apples own disk utility tool does the job while cloning the disk, no other tool or program is needed. There are also youtube links at the Crucials website, explaining how to do the entire process. Tips: Dont forget to choose the new SSD as your startup disk in the preferences menu. Otherwise the start up time increases. I figured it out after a little dissapointment. The item is shipped to Turkey with an extra USD18,46 for shipping and customs and delivered to my door in 13 days. I was able to track the whole process at the Amazons website. This was a very nice experience. I did not know that Amazon handled the whole customs process. Everything went so smooth.

> 3 day750GB is perfect. Wanted to go with an all SSD PC, so I could get rid of the 3.5 hard drive cage in my case. This is probably the best performance/capacity/cost ratio on a SSD. Sure, its not as fast as the 850 EVO/Pro drives, but those are a) more expensive and b) 500/512GB SSDs. That said, its insanely fast, and I would be hard pressed to tell the difference on real world usage between them. 3D NAND also comes with a very nice Endurance boost. If you want a SSD storage drive, I cant really think of a better option than this one. Cheaper ones can be found yes, but they also compromise on performance. This one hits the sweet spot.

> 3 dayReplaced a 6y/o hdd with this. its better than new. i used Macrium Reflect instead of Acronis. Take the time to manage your partitions so you dont have unallocated space separated from the drive you want to expand. It took about three hours to clone the hdd to ssd via usb 2.0 cable. An excellent upgrade.
