> 3 dayMy driveway is 1000 ft to my house. The 1/2 mile distance handles my not clear view and down hill very well. would recommend the DCMA-4000 to all looking for motion detected notification.

> 3 dayThis product is well priced and works very well, however, not 100 percent consistent. Frequently the device will not pick up a passing car, even when the device is in range. But most of the time we can rely upon it. It does have a long range capability. We live on top of a mountain and it notifies us when a car enters our driveway one third of a mile away. The ringtone management is a bit wacky, the instructions lack detail. For the money, we are satisfied.

> 3 dayEasy setup. Motion detector is on a fence post about 25 ft from our 12 ft wide driveway. For the past week it has worked perfectly detecting car or foot traffic with no false alarms. Our house is 300 feet from the gate and the receiver gets the signal through brick wall.

> 3 dayOrdered one transmitter and three receivers, one receiver did not work. Called customer service and received the new one in two days. Absolutely happy with product and service. It is great to deal with a good company!

Greater than one weekEasy to install, works best in straight line reception. My first version of this lasted 13 years! Now replacing that one with one even sleeker in look!

> 3 daySetup and instructions were pretty easy. I initially bought this as an additional security measure because Ive had a car prowler a few times that was captured on my Arlo but didnt know they were around. The most shocking time when we were watching tv around 6:30pm and it was dark outside. With the other cars we have in the driveway, I had no idea until a neighbor stopped by and said he chased the person away. My driveway and gravel area is about 30 wide and with the monitor set at the 50 range, I have the entire area including part of my front yard covered. Its been an excellent little monitor for getting notifications when a car happens to pull in, or when a package is being delivered and were in another room. The IR beam is very narrow which is great because I was worried about it going off when someone is walking their dog or cars for that matter. Some people have mentioned a lot of false alarms but we havent had that... maybe a handful or so over the last 3 months (all in the day). I will say this, in the mornings or when a car is cold (mainly white cars) it fails to trigger, but I dont consider that a deal breaker. When I got the Dakota DCMA-4000, I did need to reach out to their support after about a week or so because after adjusting the dip switches and testing, I noticed the receiver was blinking but there was no audio. I reset it per the instructions and paired it again and same result. Support (which was really helpful btw) told me that since I bought on Amazon, they may have had an older product that had the faulty speaker because they got reports of the speaker not working. They mailed me out a new speaker and was able to unplug the old one and replace. Sure I could have returned/exchanged for a new device, but figured since I was within my return window, this was a quick fix and it did resolve my issue.

> 3 dayOverall the product would be great if the alarm would stop going off every 10 seconds. I’ve had a Dakota alarm prior to this for over 16 years without a problem. Got in touch with customer service and the guy was acting like I was insulting him. Told me he was doing his job for 15 years and apparently he didn’t know what he was talking about sarcastically. Told him I set it up exactly like the last one and the way the directions said to. Still kept going off. Gave me a huge attitude so I got disgusted with him and sent it back. Overall Dakota is a great company and I may try a different unit.
