Every time I buy a pair, I want to buy another one. Amazing socks, highly recommended

Ive worn them in 100 degree weather and full humidity in the jungles of africa, on sidewalks in 40 degree weather in the USA without shoes, and with sandals when it is raining instead of pretty much any other kind of shoe (other than rain boots). When it is hot, they wick sweat away and keep your feet cool. When cold, they dont transfer heat from any surface- almost as good as slippers. When wet, they still dont transfer heat and dry on your feet. I wear them every day and they never smell, even when I wash them only every 2 weeks or so. They are soft, super roomy in the toes, cushioned, and dont constrict and leave marks on your ankles. The right color combinations make them appropriate for formal wear as much for hiking- in both cases, severely reduces blisters. I seriously dont understand why people DONT wear these socks. I wear through them usually every 6-8 months and always buy new ones because I want to support this company! BEST SOCKS EVER. (btw... you should NOT put them in the dryer. They will dry on their own in an hour, even quicker if you put them on. You shouldnt wash them after one use either- this is wool and the washer will break down the fibers quicker.)

Own several pairs, and they hold up better than any sock Ive owned, while being more comfortable than any other sock. They also do not get smelly even by the time they make it to the wash.... let them air dry. Worth their price.

I wash these in the sink at work each morning along with thin briefs. The wool content makes them very tough and ready to dry on a concealed hanging bar under my shop floor desk. That’s all the laundry I do since I also buy $3 t-shirts in bulk packs here, and just tie them away each morning. That streamlined my laundry tasks for the whole year as I lived out of small rooms near work where weekly laundry tasks stole a whole evening a week. It’s a pleasure to wring out the last drops from such sturdy socks. Yes, if my toenail isn’t kept short I scrape a hole in them in my boots, so now I’m careful about that too.

Best sock out there. Too expensive for a sock, in my personal opinion.

For my feet these are the best socks. For the comfort and wicking of sweat. Been a fan for years

Its a good pair of socks but VERY overpriced. If you can use the warranty to send back torn ones and get a few replacement out of it, then its worth it. Otherwise NO socks are worth $25 a pair. None. Nothing. These sure arent anything special except the warranty.

I have other darn tough socks and the trick is to order neutral colors for everyday use, these are good!

Just great for multiple use and good compression.

MATERIALS IN OUR SOCKS

Every material we use in our socks has been carefully chosen and tested to meet our rigorous durability standards. We currently use natural and synthetic fibers, and only 3 types of fiber per sock. As you’d expect, we are actively investigating and testing new fibers and yarn blends that do not appear in our current products. We’ve prioritized Merino wool throughout our product lines and our goal of producing the most responsibly made product is reflected in our commitment to the success of the Responsible Wool Standard.

SOCK CAPITAL OF THE WORLD

We live and work in Northfield, Vermont. Our backyard is the perfect testing ground to make the finest Premium All Weather Performance Socks. We ski, snowboard, hike, bike and run in the most unforgiving climate in the lower 48. It is under these conditions that we design, test and manufacture our socks.

STILL MADE IN VERMONT, USA

After so many decades why do we still knit every pair of our socks here in Vermont? We don’t do it because it’s the easy thing to do—we do it because it’s the right thing to do. We do it because for us, it’s the only way to do it. There are faster and cheaper alternatives but nobody ever outsourced anything for quality.

  • ONE FAMILY - We are family owned. For 40 years we’ve been knitting socks in the Green Mountains
  • ONE MISSION - Darn Tough is a family-owned, American manufacturer of end-use-specific socks.
  • ONE MILL - Every step of the knitting process happens right here, by us, locally, in Northfield, VT
