> 3 dayHonestly I did not purchase these socks from Amazon but from a local retailer in Kodiak Alaska, but they’re the same thing. The following is a letter I wrote to Darn Tough Vermont customer service which I still haven’t received a reply: Hi I just wanted to let you know that I am pretty disappointed with your socks. I live in Kodiak Alaska and work in some pretty extreme weather conditions so I don’t mind spending the extra money on quality gear. I found and bought Darn Tough socks locally from a sporting goods store and was initially happy with my purchase because the socks are so comfortable. On about the third or fourth wear I noticed a hole where the stitching comes together., expensive socks for quality thats appears to be lacking. I even bragged to my wife how comfortable they are and almost bought her some and me a second pair..glad I waited. Seriously, I have Walmart socks that have lasted more than a month. Maybe a factory defect? Who knows but $18 is a lot to spend on a pair of socks that didn’t last more than a few wears Brian

> 3 dayI wash these in the sink at work each morning along with thin briefs. The wool content makes them very tough and ready to dry on a concealed hanging bar under my shop floor desk. That’s all the laundry I do since I also buy $3 t-shirts in bulk packs here, and just tie them away each morning. That streamlined my laundry tasks for the whole year as I lived out of small rooms near work where weekly laundry tasks stole a whole evening a week. It’s a pleasure to wring out the last drops from such sturdy socks. Yes, if my toenail isn’t kept short I scrape a hole in them in my boots, so now I’m careful about that too.

Greater than one weekI often struggle with “performance” socks being too thick and too tight. These socks are neither. They fit nicely and do the job, not too bulky or too tight.

> 3 dayI bought a pair of these socks from another site since they were in sale. I was concerned about their own thickness since I live in Florida. To my surprise they are the most comfortable socks I have ever owned. I bought another pair on Amazon and even though they are not cheap they are US made and just great socks even in the heat. Will buy more.

> 3 dayHiker 1/4 cushion is my go to sock. I layer a xl over a L in winter hiking. The last pair I bought here had a different feel, was larger and stretched more than other pairs I have. Be aware!
