> 24 hourIf your a long time fan of dominion, why haven’t you bought this yet? If your new to the game. Please don’t buy this. It is very complex and it cannot be played without the base game. Save this one for later.

> 24 hourIve been playing Dominion for years and love this set. It adds quite a bit of complexity and strategy. The game had been feeling a bit stagnant but this set spices it up.

> 24 hourIm really pleased with this expansion, which introduces a lot of new elements to the game, all of which are fun. The heirlooms, for example, can replace starting coppers, and the hexes and boons are like randomized attacks or bonuses. Im particularly happy with a couple of cards that potentially give additional actions but dont lead to endless chains of cards.

> 24 hourI own Dominion (2nd ed.), Intrigue (2nd ed.), Prosperity, and Nocturne. I love the way Nocturne plays on its own, my wife loves the way Nocturne cards interact with the other Dominion cards. Either way, Nocturne is a wonderfully complex addition to the Dominion series. The boons and hexes add a bit more of that random factor to the game since you dont know which one youll draw next; but some of the cards allow for a bit more control: like Crypt which lets you store treasures you played during your buy phase for later use; or Cobbler which lets you gain a card to your hand at the start of your next turn. The best part of Nocturne cards is that they really make you rethink your strategy. I imagine a lot of pros are really thrown off balance by it, but having a truly unique expansion is something that I appreciate. While its definitely not the simplest expansion, there is a wide range of incredibly simple to decently complex cards and card combos within the expansion. My dear mother struggled with the idea that she would have to keep track of how many cards she gained in a turn in order to know what would happen when she played a Devils Workshop. But, with enough passion for Dominion, you (and my mother) will figure it out; and this expansion just might be your favorite. I think it might be mine.
