Dominion: Nocturne Board Games, 144 months to 9600 months

Solid expansion. Neat new mechanics and tons of cards!

This expansion is great, but I would only recommend it for experienced Dominion players and dont recommend adding more than a couple to any single game. I was concerned before getting Nocturne that all the new mechanics (night/hexes/boons/spirits/etc) would break the game or at least reduce the enjoyment, but it definitely doesnt. It is a worthy addition, especially if you already have several other expansions to use with it. I did mark off one star due to the cards being ever so slightly thinner than those from the original sets and expansions, but nowhere near as bad as those in the Adventures expansion.

So, Ive played Dominion for years, but hadnt started my own collection until I bought this (along with the base cards). However, I quickly found that this expansion is too overwhelming if its the only set youre playing with! So, I quickly bought another set to add to this, to dilute some of the complexity. Nevertheless, Nocturne is a fun and interesting set to play with, so long as you are experienced and/or are including other sets.

Interesting new variation on the game. Not essential to have, but fun if you play Dominion frequently.

Dominion Nocturne is an outstanding addition to the Dominion game family. The inclusion of a new Night phase and of Boon and Hex cards adds an all new level to the game. Highly recommended.

Im always looking for expansions for my favorite games. Nocturne fits the bill for Dominion... Its fast, its simple, and now we have things that go bump in the dark. For me, its a MUST HAVE.
