> 3 dayI ordered this on September 6th, 2010 and received on September 11. The product arrived with out the product serial number that you needed to start the registration and student verification process. Attempted to contact Nuance customer service and was told that it would take up to 2 days to get a response to my email. Got my email response 2 days later and the response seemed like they did not read the email. Finally, got to talk to customer service after having to take off work in order to call them during their service hours and was told that that I would have to send them a copy of the receipt and that they would send me a a response within 2 days after the request. Went to the web site to start the process and decided that it just wasnt worth the hassle. I sent the product bask without ever having a chance to use due to poor quality control and a cumbersome customer service resolution system. Would not recommend buying anything from this company unless you dont mind the hassle if you have a problem. I know several people who use Dragon Naturally Speaking and say it is a very good product but I dont have the time to deal with poor customer service if there is a problem. Buyer Be Ware. jthomas

> 3 dayI purchased Dragon Naturally Speaking student edition a week or two ago and delayed set up and registraton, because I was intimidated by some of the reviews I read here. The registration process was simple and only required one e-mail to get product registration, which was sent to me a immediately. The only requirement for a product registration was my student e-mail address. I thought it would take hours to train my dragon but found it was very simple. I am not computer savvy and I get frustrated easily but this process was seamless. I wish I had taken the time two weeks ago to set it up. Version 11 student/teacher is easy to use and has already proven to be a good investment. Perhaps the nuance customer support has improved since the other reviews are written. I am still training my Dragon, but believe it will save me hours of typing that can be spent in more productive ways.

> 3 dayI have brought three Dragon set and I have not been able to get them to work. I called the customer service with little results, these CDs are expensive and I would like to get them working. I would not recommend the Dragon to anyone.

> 3 dayI heard a lot of complaints about activation of the education edition. I didnt have any of those problems. I like this software because once it learns your field and how you talk it abbreviates where it is supposed to (like CPU, OS, DDR3) other speech software would spell it out (like see pee you, instead of CPU).

> 3 dayI normally do not rate a product because of a problem outside of the functionality of the product itself. But the verification process that Dragon has for the Student Edition needs to be changed. It simply pisses off a customer who just dropped $100 on their software. You cannot install the product without a serial number. You need to submit verification to a third party website to get the serial number, if there is a problem of any sort, they do not respond in a timely fashion - if at all. If Dragon was wise, they should allow you to at least install the product and have it functional for 30 days. This will allow you to use the product until you can get by the labyrinth of requirements to get the serial number. This way you can use the product when it arrives at your door. After 5 days of sheer frustration, I returned the software and I am using the native speech recognition in Windows 7. Nuance is $100 poorer for it and I will never buy another one of their products until they change this horrible process to install their product.

> 3 dayIt is a lot better now but I still like this version and it still works! It is a lil difficult to train but if you got time it is great!

> 3 dayI tend to talk fast and mumble a bit and run my words together. Once, I got the hang of talking to Dragon, he and I seem to be on the same page most of the time. When, I am tired, well lets just say, Ive learned a few new words. As long as you speak clearly and at an even tone this program is great for typing in word and e-mail programs. Sucks in Excel, and takes over the +/- keys on my wireless numeric keypad. Corrections seem to take time, though some are relatively quick. I think that its me. There seem to be less mistakes every day.

Greater than one weekI bought the Dragon NaturallySpeaking software about a month ago. I was very hesitant because I was concerned about the accuracy but I needed something because I have severe arthritis. But to my surprise it was amazing right out of the box. It only took a few minutes to set up and verify that I was a student. I have used this for writing several technical papers and it has done awesome picking up on chemical compound names and engineering terms. I have been very amazed with this product and I am using it to write this review and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

12-06-2025BUYER BEWARE- Sent in all the required information to register the product. The website says an email was sent with the serial number. No email was received. Called Customer No Service. They are of absolutely no help. They say they do not have access to the serial number. Told to use Live Chat. I tried. I wait in the queue a couple of times only to be cut off with a message someone would get back to me. Too bad I cant review the product, but it is not possible to activate it. VERY FRUSTRATING! Edit: After numerous tries to get on Live Chat, I was finally able to contact them. They emailed me the serial number. The original email had not been received. Now that I can actually try out the software I may revise my review.
