The product does Not come with a serial number. You are instructed to go on line and submit your information and the product number. A few business days later you will get an email that will ask for a copy of your student ID card and other personal information in order to be granted a serial number so that you can continue with the long enrollment process before you will be able to use their product. I submitted everything they asked for but it is now several weeks later after purchase and the customer service people keep emailing me that they have not received my student ID information. I have numerous outgoing emails that I sent to these jokers proving that I did submit my student ID and the other personal private financial information that they requested, but still I have not received a serial number from them. The makers of this product are scam artists. I believe now that there is no way that their product could possibly work. Do not waste your time or money on this product! It is just not worth it. I gave them 1 star because there was no option for a zero star or a negative star. This company is very bad.

Worked great right out of the box, the student verification was a little difficult and annoying but once we got through that, it works great! Only needs a little practice using the headset but was very accurate.

I purchased Dragon 11 from Staples, not the student edition but the full price package. I have the box in hand, the disk, and the Quick Reference Card, and I paid extra for the blue tooth device. I have spent 2 to 3 hours trying to activate my product and appearantly I dont have a valid serial number. I cant even find one single place on the box or on the disk that says Serial Number ...... or S/N Thanks to Nuance for wasting my time and money. Your customer service and ease of set up is a total disappointment. I sure hope a competitor enters the market soon and takes your business away. You dont deserve any financial success you have reaped over the years, if this is the way you treat customers.

I did not obtain a product code number that would allow me to use the product. It was to come with my student copy and I have been unable to use it as I do n ot know how to send my student picture Id. I am thiking i must return this product as I am unable to send this info. If I could fax this I would be happy to.

When I purchased this product, it came without all of the information, meaning that I couldnt use the program. Neither Amazon, who sold the program, nor Nuance, who provides general support for the program saw fit to do anything about it. I was exceedingly dissatisfied with my purchase and ended up wasting a lot of money on a corporate wild goose chase.

I really like this product. It works well. Sometimes it types things I am not sure where they are coming from but for the most part this types exactly what I say and does it quite fast as well. I do recommend this to others, but it does need to be trained to your way of speaking and your accent or dialect to know what word you want typed.

Okay everybody, I am not one to write a review, but after seeing everything that has been written about this product, I decided I must write a review. A lot of people, have been bad mouthing the fact, that you have to verify your student status to receive the serial number from Nuance. I can tell you now, for all of you who have a .edu address, this will not be a challenge whatsoever. I received my Dragon NaturallySpeaking, from UPS about an hour ago. Within that time, I did the online verification of my student status, received my serial number, install the program, and I am now writing this review I using my headset and my Dragon NaturallySpeaking. One recommendation I would strongly make, is that you invest in a better headset. I invested in the Koss CS 100 headset is thus far everything is working very clearly. I spent about 20 min. reading some of the documentation that they give you to learn your voice. In that short period of time, you see the results. As a graduate student, who is often writing anywhere between 20 and 60 pages a week of text this is going to be a lifesaver. I hope many of you will be able to make the same investment.

The insane procedure you must go through to activate this software is maddening. They tell you to go to a website that is frequently down and upload proof of employment at an academic institution and then they say you have to wait 24 hours before they email you a serial number. After trying for two days to get to the website which was always down I called tech support and they said theyd email me the serial number. Verifying my student identity to get the serial number was easy and only took a few minutes online. Setting up the program was easy. This program is demanding on the CPU. I recommend not running any unnecessary programs while installing and using this software. The microphone it comes with works horribly with this software. I was very disappointed with the software at first until I realized that the microphone was the problem. Know that you are going to have to invest $80-$120 in a good headset or microphone in order for this program to work optimally. I use the SteelSeries Siberia V2 headset in combination with an Audio to USB adapter. With this setup, Dragon recognizes my speech flawlessly with minimal training. Dragon will automatically adapt your user profile to you as you use it. It will look at all of your documents and learn the most common words and phrases that you use. It is incredibly easy and quick to teach it words and phrases that it doesnt recognize. Train it while using it, then get right back to work in no time! The commands are intuitive and customizable. I am a college student and this program has been a life-saver. I take notes so much faster by dictating, even though I can type incredibly fast. I have so much more free time now.
